Stay away from reefer , stay far away from reefer .
There seem to be to many headaches . Lol

Unless they offer you 100% drop and hook.:yes2557:

Or maybe I just run into all the problems , hell you can have my truck . Lol:biggrin_2559:

    TruckerLB Thanks this.

Riders can only be with you during non-winter months, unless you are L/O or O/O.
    As far as I know.

    DocWatson and TruckerLB Thank this.

It makes no difference what you pull, its how much you make a week -which can even vary from one driver to another in the same company.
Flat bed, reefer, dry box, tanker they all have their ups and downs.
FYI: You can load a reefer with dry van freight but you cant load a dry van with reefer freight --just pointing out it may mean more consistent miles -dunno.
And i did pull a reefer and a flatbed --wasn't around long enough to become an expert at either --but made way more money with the reefer (team driving way back in 1986) than i did with a flatbed
They all have their upsides and downsides.

does this matter where you run? I know everywhere i run its almost spring weather, I thought about taking a rider with me on runs once in awhile, I know I have to purchase the insurance but I have a friend who would like to tag along for a day and my wife really wants to take a short run with me, I know my mother has tossed hints as well who used to be a trucker back in the day and misses riding in one.

We have a few dedicated accounts that are reefer, and they are gravy. Mostly drop and hook with a few live unloads, Costco and Wal-Mart stores.

Target is also drop and hook, in 3 months I only did 2 live unloads and that was christmas time when some stores were getting multiple loads a day, all our backhauls are drop and hook as well.
