dp .. what that means is, if you roll in there with an 1/8 of tank, they load you to 79900 and you say hey I need some weight off for fuel, they say sorry. It's why I've started rolling in with the fuel I where I want it. If it over weight. They can rework it. If not, Swift can send another truck for the load .
In OK on the 40, on my way to CA with TP for the fine people of my home state ...

Dodge City T/A outside Birmingham, AL. Gotta take 43k of paper to Elk Grove Village, IL (Chicago) then will start to bug the DM to get me home by the 27th. Anybody got an idea how much weight full fuel tanks are?
-
depends on your tanks, I have 2 100 gallon tanks so I just estimate with being full and liquid at 8lbs per gallon would be 1600lbs I do believe that the tanks have a variation of 15% of capacity I was told? someone else might clarify that but if you estimate with the above your good to go. I always tried to go into places where I would have a heavy load with half a tank, I figured thats enough fuel to get me to some fuel stops along the way safely and low enough to get the load scaled.
Today went to a Target in Dublin for the first time, I saw the trainer in the dc yard so pulled beside him to ask him about the store but to my surprise he has never gone to that store more because it cuts later and he begins his days at 6am, he saw me and said he thought I was released from the dc, I told him I was indeed but was brought back after 4 days, he said he was happy to see me back and thought it was stupid I was released instead of a couple of the low performance drivers. Its nice hearing from a couple different sources that they want me around and I hope i stay for good this time around. After the dublin load I caught a backhaul from bunzl in Tracy, CA and tomorrow I am running to Riverbank then getting a backhaul from general mills in Stockton. So far 2 really good days in a row, it seems loads are picking up again, when I was released I was told it was averaging 160-170 loads per week but we are now closer to 200. -

the accurate weight works too
I forget its less dense than water so weighs less, gas weighs even less than that.
big reason why water isnt a good option to put out a fire caused by fuel. -
At amazon in breinigsville, PA.
Waiting for my load they say it won't be ready til at least 1600 then it's off to Ky then hopefully a t-call in TX.
This morning my delivery in quakersville, PA was supposed to be able to unload as early as 0200 so I got there at 0400. Turns out the guys at the warehouse don't show up til 0700 so that was a good amount of time wasted there.
I'm gonna run out of hours here since I drive nights so my co-driver is gonna have to make the run to Ky.
Hopefully by Sunday we will be running with target. They know our situation and said they are waiting for us with open arms. -
Albuquerque Walmart. Taking a 34 since I haven't picked up a load and I started my break at an appropriate time.

Vinton, LA. PU in Houston going to Zanesville, OH. I know a little out of route, but my hours are tight, and this will actually save time and fuel avoiding us 59 from Houston to Texarkana and the construction on 40 in AR. Also running night so Interstate will be easier on the eyes and less towns. Not sure if 55 to Memphis then 40 over to 65 or 59 to Birmingham and then 65 up. Decide that when I get that far. Probably 59 to 65 to 71. Been a very long time since I have run nights. Hope remember how.
