As far as I know, once you submit it to the SOS/DMV.. it takes roughly 24 hours if not instantly. They are up to date.. however it may still show that it is invalid on your MVR for 24 hours.

I think you have 30 days from downgrade to show them proof and reinstatement is instantaneously. If you wait past the grace period then you have to start from scratch and retest. I'll look deeper and see if I can find it.

Call that number because I can't find anything online. IL doesn't have good info like other states do.

Where have you been the past couple years? This has been in effect since 1/30/2012 in IL.

Save and check this link from time to time for changes in the regulations.

    Almost a month late?

Illinois sends reminders months in advance to the address on record.

    Good luck with them.

You should be okay kroki looking at that link. Though it doesn't say exactly as soon as that BThompson receives your email and enters it you would be good. Ask him in the email when you send it and hopefully he would reply to you.

Whatever you do don't drive a CMV until that's cleared up or you'll have bigger problems.

    Good luck!

Had the isssue with mine in NY. They told me in an email as long as I carried the current medical card I could drive even though there letter they mailed said I couldnt. It took about 2 weeks to get it in there system before they corrected the status.

bro in law had his downgraded on the spot. due to failed med card. but once passed. he went straight to dmv and was immediately reinstated.

i don't know all the details though, as he was out for 90 days to get his problem fixed. but i know there was a screw up at the clinic that no one noticed or said anything about on his card. that more or less saved his butt.
