The camera is there and is set on a 60 second loop. It only records when the truck's computer detects certain things like speeding, slamming on the brake, jerking the wheel etc.. There is also a camera facing the road to record what is happening there when the events occur. Trust me, this is coming to other companies as well. Too many drivers texting while driving. Also, it will save your ### if you are cut off by a four wheeler and have to react. The video is uploaded directly after recording . I don't see it as a problem, even if the camera was pointed at the sleeper birth I wouldn't mind. I'm still young enough to give them a show
KnoxFox23 and wyldhorses Thank this. -
Detects speeding? How does it know what the speed limit is?
-
You are 100% Correct! ALL companies will have cameras in 3 years or less probably. It's the way it is.

I think Joe Dirt's dad says it best. How exactly is a rainbow made? How exactly does a sun set? How exactly does a posi-trac rear-end on a plymouth work? It just does! lol Not trying to be smart, just having a little fun!

Will Mils offer training to people from Washington State' good companies who like people make a good company please return cruzin

That I don't know, it would be best to call them and ask if they recruit from your state.

The trucks are governed, you can go faster, say down a hill. Also, the little black box records your speed, your gps records your location. My gps in my car tells me the local speed limit, so yes I believe they can tell if you are speeding or not.

The camera is connected to the onboard computer. When it sends a clip to safety there is a section of screen that shows your speedometer, tachometer, percentages for On Brake, On Accelerator, ect. If the onboard computer knows your speed then so does the camera system.

Hey everyone, it's Gucci again. Just wanted to post an update. Let's see. Last week. We got to drive around the yard with a full trailer attached to the tractor. This was great in that it helped us to get a feel for using the mirrors and proper turning. We also went on the road. First time driving was a straight shot to get us used to up shifting and downshifting , especially before stopping at lights. The next day we were city driving , making lots of left and right hand turns. I did ok, I got a little nervous and forgot where 4th gear was a few times, but loosened up after a bit behind the wheel. The last 3 days of the week were spent solely on the range doing our maneuvers. Day 1 we learned the 90 degree and sight side parallel, we spent the entire day ( 8 hours) doing nothing but those two. By day two I could hit the 90 with one pull up ( I've only hit it perfect once, no pull ups). Next week is looking like a full week of driving to get our miles in before going on the road with our trainers. I'm feeling pretty confident so far. Only thing I can suggest to anyone who goes to trucking school is once you guys get your pretrip information, look over it every day and commit it to memory. Stay after class, go to the range on the weekends, do what you have to do so you know it by heart. I've seen a couple of guys come in for their cdl tests, and they fail the pretrip first time out. I do not want that to me be and neither do you. Millis is a great company and guys have taken their cdl test 3 times before passing, and still have a job with them. Most of the drivers I talk to that failed said it was the pre trip they failed on.
eurotrash Thanks this.
