I can answer your questions honestly. I live on my own, and support my wife and child. I didn't lose my wife or son, infact not even close to it. Never been treated for depression nor do I need to. I'm happy to be alive everyday and thankful for my good job and my family.
True not everyone can answer those questions the same way I can BUT they can change that, them and no one else. -
Passbook savings rate currently @ .87%. Times $400. WHY THOSE ######## AT BOYD ARE MAKING $3.50 OFF EACH ONE OF YOU DRIVERS EVERY YEAR!

If you're losing your home or wife and kids because you CHOOSE this profession, CHOOSE a different profession!! No one is holding a gun to truckers heads making them stay in this game. Drivers that find themselves in these situations should try taking individual responsibility for their lives instead of looking for someone or something else to blame.
Are you saying that a thing, a truck, a mechanical machine has a hold over humans so they can't make smart decisions? If you can't make your bills then you are spending too much elsewhere or not making enough. Make a decision to change whichever one it is, I guarantee that if you ask a 2010 Pete 379 what to do it ain't gonna say much! -
Those straps are not a mandatory purchase. Any equipment we buy , belongs to us.Drivers girl Thanks this.

The 400.00 is a damage deposit not only for the truck, but for any cargo claims from careless drivers damaging cargo. I've been with Boyd for over a year and they have been great to me. I've met dozens of other Boyd drivers, and only one was dissatisfied. While speaking with him it became clear that he was the problem, not the company. I'm willing to bet the guy that started this post will have problems with any company he decides to work for. He clearly has no sense of self responsiblity. I do not believe for a second he sat for a week without a load. I rarely sit for an hour waiting to get a new load dispatched.
Drivers girl Thanks this. -
What he isnt telling y'all is that he got a trailer stuck and they charged him for the wrecker to pull it out. You're told in orientation that unless it's due to an accident, breakdown, or it's absolutely not your fault, you pay the tow bill.
Drivers girl Thanks this. -
Well, the whole buy equipment and PPE thing is news to me, Maverick provides it all except boots. Its all replaceable free of charge...so, to each his own....imagine working for, say, a bank and you have to buy your work computer, desk, chair and office supplies.....bizzare....

Add in the $400 of YOUR money.
I don't know how many drivers Boyd has, but just for math let's say 250.
The point was $400 x 250= $100,000. How much interest did they make? Trust me they didn't put it in passbook savings.
