moosc, you've raised some very good points but it seems like you still have a lot to learn about SNI. It took me less than one year driving for them to realize that they seem to put increasing company profits before driver safety and vehicle maintenance issues. Perhaps it was a problem isolated to the Northeast terminal (Carlisle, PA), but I think that's unlikely. While Schneider is one of the so-called "mega carriers," that does not exempt them from taking better care of their equipment... which might include more driver trainings and fixing equipment in a timely manner. There are some very good aspects of SNI that I admire, but this is one area that I hope they will improve upon in the near future.

I don't see them putting profits before driver safety. I never have a problem getting anything fixed. If I have a problem, I go to the shop and they fix it.

If you want to make an argument that they put profits above driver comfort, I won't argue with you, but your problem seems to be isolated to your area, we have a great shop here.

I have no issue with Carlisle maintenance. In my opinion one of the best. I prefer them to do maintenance on my truck over my home oc of charlotte. Heck couple weeks ago while drivers where leaving with chunks of ice n snow on there roof, I took mine to maintenance and they pulled me into express and the guy used a load lock and broom to remove the ice n snow. Took him a hour but no complaints from him. So say want u want to say I've been here 3.5 years and when somthing is wrong they fix it. This isn't my first rodeo.

Finally got home for some time off after 2 months. Heck of a drive. Came from Kansas City to SLC. Run immediately went south as I was to pick up a relay that was en route. They update the ETA 52 times and still ended up being 12 hours off. Then the drive was effortless until I got to North Platte to fuel and it started snowing and got cold. I drove another several hours into it and ended up camping out at a horrible middle eastern run truckstop just east of the TA near Cheyenne and the snow was just coming down. I barely made it by 2 minutes on my drive time. Had several pucker moments and the roads froze really bad at the Nebraska/ Wyoming border. It's around 19 and of course the Bunk heater won't work and The truck doesn't idle until around 08 or so. So I freeze all night. Eventually get out of the truck to 5 inches of fresh snow on top of what already came down. Right on!

Roads were absolute crap all the way to about the 220 or so. Saw about 11 trucks wiped out, 9 of which still had drivers in the trucks on the phones. 2 were bad rear ends with other trucks, and one was a car that had hit a driver. 2 others were one truck lost it and took out the guy the next to him. Got to love those one MPH passes on snow and ice.

Anyway I finally get home, so happy,,,,,,,and my Xterra is completely dead. Nothing. I try to jump it and nothing. I check the fuses and the Fusible link for the battery is blown. Takes a half hour to get the darn fuse boxe out, so I can even get to the Link, then another 20 as I drop the only only 10mm socket I have, inside the engine compartment somewhere. By the time I get the stupid link off, I'm too tired and P/od to walk 3 miles to the auto parts store to buy the part. I'll do it tomorrow after I deliver and then off till friday. Hopefully my Xterra won't be in the shop the whole time. Get my taxes done and figure out what my game plans are going to be for the rest of the year.

eh, I deadheaded from Obetz to the yard in Tennessee once because they were short MT trailers, I called to make sure it wasn't a mistake. I wouldn't put this past them.
