I'm not retired. I am past my fortieth birthday, so I guess I qualify as "old." I run my own business, and also work for a veterinarian, keep the house clean, repaired, keep the stock and house animals fed, watered, and healthy, repair the barns and fences, do plumbing, electrical, car repair when needed, pay the bills, take care of my infirm mother, and am there for my trucker husband as his satellite eyes and traffic cam monitor when need be. That defines me as more than a "homemaker," which is defined as a stay-at-home wife who only keeps house and takes care of the kids.

BACK IT ON OFF, FULL SPEED! All you're doing is showing your boorishness.

he is relegated to 62 mph or less so for him to back off would only create more of a traffic impediment.some posters conjure the image of a pair of fingerless driving gloves that push the buttons of automatic transmissions that in turn propel those super singles down the middle lanes of our highways and byways thus making the rest of us pass on the right or extreme left.It is apparently all they know-

relegated- (put away, usually to a lower position or condition). used ^above in the proper context.an excellent word of the day for those needing to expand their vocabulary.

I'll be running a tripple cam setup in the near future. They won't be recording speed etc...but just video.

a dash cam that records speed would qualify as an upper end, read pricey, cam.is that correct? could someone that truly wishes to use that cam against you determine your speed by viewing the footage and calculating, somehow, your road speed anyway?

as odd as it reads,i have not gotten a dash cam because my truck does run and i run it.i'd like to have a cam to work with me just in case yet because i do drive with the traffic, and often that is over the speed limit by X amount,i have chosen to not purchase one because it seems as if i'd be in the wrong regardless.make sense?

i need to be convinced that a dash cam will benefit me i suppose.I do not see how it would not,yet i envision the opposite as well.I'll keep reading.

the catch 22 of driving an actual truck and desiring a dash cam imo-

I've thought about this. Actually, I've thought about how I would prove I wasn't speeding. I haven't done any checking to be certain, but I bet there are DOT standards for how long road painters make the dotted lines. Knowing the length on the dotted line and the number of dotted lines that pass under the front of the truck in a given period of time will give you enough info to calculate speed. As a backup plan, if I was ever in an accident, I think I might lay a tape measure down on the highway and measure a few of those dotted lines and take a picture to be used in court.

clarification: i don't always run over the speed limit but i do run as close to it as i can in a safe manner which seems to have me in front of the traffic. being hemmed in makes me nervous. that reads better than my previous reply.

thank you rank for the reply.I tend to think too deeply concerning my purchases and haven't had the opportunity to discuss the merits of/repercussions from a dash cam.I am able to see one in my future but have talked myself out of one when i am on the verge of the purchase.I'll probably use some points to do it and go from there soon.
