I really liked the idea of home every weekend as that is something I do NOT get now. I really like the idea of driving OTR. At least regional. I have heard way too many stories for me to go over the road while I am in the military. Who knows I guess. Maybe by the time I return home from Afghanistan, I will have convinced myself to give it a try....ha ha. Lots of things go through your mind over here to try to keep yourself occupied. I guess I have some thinking to do. I will most likely have some more questions for you as well. Thanks again.

There is another driver on the pole fleet who is marine corp reserve and he doesn't have any problem getting home and we are basically otr. I've never had a problem getting home within a day or two of when I ask
-
OK. How do you get on the pole fleet? Do they want you to start out on flats or OTR first? How often do they get home doing that? Pay? I know I am asking a lot of questions but just trying to get as informed as I can.
Thanks -
To gross 70k assuming that you work every single week of the year without taking even one half of one week off (which is also unlikely) you need to have an average weekly gross of $1346.
If a larger than average check for you is only 1600 for every 2 weeks that gives you an average weekly gross pay of 800 a week being optimistic. With that said you will gross 41k for the year.
The only way that i can see this being remotely possible is given the fact as OTR truck drivers we get the 59$ per diem @ 80% along with a plethora of other expenses we can write off such as cell phone bill,gps/map,tools etc....
If you've incorporated yourself into a business virtually every dollar you spend could be tax deductible, but i still don't see how we're coming up with 48k & 53k net when based on your most optimistic #'s we aren't even grossing that on NW regional.
I don't need to see a bunch of paperwork, but i'd just like to know which part of my math is incorrect here because it's not adding up to me. -
