I have about a year of experience driving trucks. I drove for Werner for 6 months, but left because pay was low. I did some spotting and then ran local in southern IL, hauling grain. Some people will only count the time I did at Werner as "experience" and that is a real setback for me, that I wasn't foreseeing. Still, I wouldn't trade the time I had at Brown't for anything. It was seasonal, though. Pay was decent. I was treated with respect. The work was fun.
Now, I am looking for a decent company to run for and saw an ad for a dedicated lane that US Xpress has. What is your opinion of US Xpress? I am familiar with the name and see their trucks on the road, but I haven't heard much about them.
Thanks.
US Xpress, How is it?

it is so bad that those that do know are ashamed to admit that they know what they know and still drive for them.take the number of replies that you have not gotten as an example.
jk as in reality,i wouldn't know- -
I have not worked for them but in speaking to people who have, with one year verifiable you can do better.

US Xpress can't be too bad. They're picky enough to not like my CV. I don't appreciate the bias that exists in the industry against local work. It's like I gotta go be somebody's ###### for 6 more months and then call them back. By then, I'm sure the dedicated lanes I want will be gone. They, and everyone else I've talked to, tell me to go "somewhere else" and do some time. I asked if someone can name a company I might try. All I got was C.R. England. I laughed and asked if there are any others.
Screw this. I'm going to see if I can go to a monastery in Russia. -
Just saw this thread. Wife & I work there. US Xpress is a good company. Teams get new trucks, they've been buying only automatics but the older trucks are 10 speed. Solo drivers get the older trucks.
I tell anyone who asks that if you want to make good money here then get on a dedicated account. The miles/pay is consistent. We do about $1,000 - $1,600 each a week. -
With 6 months experience, you won't have to go with a trainer. 2 days of orientation then they give you the keys and off you go.
