Hello all,
I am 21 years old, and I reside in Downstate NY. I will be going to school to get my CDL Class-A License here very shortly; therefore, I have no experience, nor will I have any by the time I apply. I have a few questions regarding Septic Hauling:
1. How do you even get into Septic Hauling? I have no background whatsoever in plumbing or anything of the nature/in relation to. I'm assuming talk to a company and if they want to, they'll hire and train me? Do I need schooling, etc?
2. What are my chances, being that I'm 21 years old, and will have no background in driving?
Those are my questions for now. I'm sure I'll think of others!
Thanks for your help and advice!

You're gettin' Shiddy Widdit. Am I rite?
Sorry. New account and I couldn't hide my Reddit background.
From what I hear, you won't find many interstate jobs until you're 23. If you're into the shart jobs, you may just win the crap shoot.HauntedSchizo19 Thanks this. -
That's what I was thinking. I was thinking that if I had my CDL Class-A with my endorsements already, it'd be easier. Thanks for the advise. I assumed you didn't need to have any plumbing background, and the company would train you. I think once I'm in school I'm gunna go and talk to some companies.
How did you like doing Septic Hauling?
Thanks! -
LMAO! Ha ha, that's funny, and you're all good! Yes, most companies don't hire unless your 23 or older. There are a few, which I'm gunna apply with, but I thought I'd explore my options.
Hey, the best way to make money is to do something that no one likes doing! -
Is septic tank cleaning a good business to get into? What I mean is: is there money to be made, and is the work steady year-round? Thanks, again!

Here's some disposal companies to check:
PSC Environmental Services
Clean Harbors
Republic ServicesHauntedSchizo19 Thanks this. -
Thanks! I'll look into them!

Or you could try grease trap cleaning it's way less disgusting than doing septic. You can also haul water for oil well companies too but if septic is what you are looking for then go for it.

Thanks. I have been looking into driving a water truck. My cousin actually does that, and I will be talking with his company here shortly. I was under the impression that most septic companies do grease trap cleaning also? Hmm. Probably some do, and some don't. Thanks for the assistance!
