And hopefully it stays that way................... -
people say that EU cabovers are safer in roll over crashes.

Maybe this will shed some light on the future of cabovers in the North American Market.
Walmart is entering the second phase development of the supercube truck which uses the Argosy as the base vehicle.

According to the article they intend to expand the fleet in a big way, both in Canada and the US. If they place a large enough order with Freightliner on a multiyear basis, it will be what Freightliner has been waiting for to justify the engineering expense to reintroduce a complete 2014 spec Argosy to the North American market. The versions sold in Australia already have DD-15's with particulate traps, so most of the engineering is already done.
The Argosy is still the only cabover produced worldwide with a 110" mid and high roof cab in regular production. Combined with the specialized users who either need or prefer a cabover configuration there could be a change afoot here. -
Pablo that is a photoshop, and thank god, because it is hideous. The k200 is the latest evolution of a 40 year old design which dates back to the k100. This is along time before Paccar bought daf in 1996. The xf105 has only been available for a couple of years over here.
Also I thought you euro guys might find interesting that Kenworth will be running 24 volt electrical systems on trucks equipped with the Paccar mx13, but these are still in testing and haven't been released for sale yet. -

I hope your right Stude, we desperately could use an Argosy for our operations, BUT, we have to be Cali. legal. Even looked into having a DPF added to an Argosy glider, but between the ridiculous expense, and the even more ridiculous maintenance on that DPF app. it is out of our reach.
If an emission legal Argosy was available today, we would be ready to order. -

DAF LF with KW logo. The same engine like for EU -
In the Spec Pro program Freightliner uses, there are options for a DEF tank when specing an Argosy and various engines. I honestly didn't pay any attention to what was offered for new engines since I was interested in only the 12.7/ glider. It may be possible to get an emissions Argosy. Most dealers aren't even aware that the Argosy is available at all.
