Might be a little more than 45K. I've got an 07 Pete 379, standard 63" sleeper with cab extenders...290" wheel base, 600 Cummins, 18 speed with tall 22.5 rubber. 12k fronts and 46K rears. Fuel capacity is 150 gallons per side. I'm pulling a 2013 Talbert MGN with flip neck, outriggers and 3 axles on the back. (Back one will flip if needed) Trailer is 40 ton capacity. I do have an APU on the truck, standard headache rack with 12 3/8" chains and binders & 8 1/2" chain and binders.....various dunnage/blocking on trailer plus boards for outriggers. Oversize flags, signs etc..... Inside of cab...nothing special but have TV, Satellite dish, refrigerator, microwave, laptop, printer and a office supplies like paper, printer ink stapler and of course personal items, clothes bedding etc..
Bottom line......empty weight with about a half tank of fuel is 44,200 #'s

I had a 4 axle Pete 379, 120"ari, 310" Wheel base, 6NZ Cat, 18 speed, double frame, dual steer boxes, 2 speed rears----all the same crap and more...1/2 tank of fuel (150 gallons) pulling same trailer.....empty weight was 52,300 #'s Parked the 3 axle rgn and pulled a 2+2+2 with it to justify the weight and length..

Hope this helps and best of luck to ya'

How did the 310" W/B tractor work out for you pulling a 2+2+2?

Would I be goin out on a limb thinking you ran into lots of length issues?

Gotta be darn near impossible to keep under 110'long unless you had short well?

Guess I forgot to mention that when I said my empty weight was 52,300# in the above post....that was just the tractor...lol. When I hooked up to the Cozad 2+2+2 (70 ton capacity) my total empty weight with a half a tank of fuel was 101,650 #'s The trailer itself when it was ready to be loaded was almost 90' long. You then add the tractor and you're well over the 105 to 110 foot length. Of course most all of these loads require a permit, escorts etc and the length was accounted for but you have more travel restrictions, speed restrictions etc when you get into the super load status.
When I would deliver the load and then break the trailer down and stack it up, I could get my over all length down to about 78'. That was with the additional 16" king pin setting in the neck and fifth wheel slid forward with just enough clearance on the tail swing to miss the mudflaps/fenders. The only states that I really had a problem was Georgia. 75' length there but I'm sure if other states wanted to get the tape measure out, I would have gotten a few tickets for being over length...lol! So, most of the time I was under permit anyway to travel empty because of weight so I would just make my length 80' to be on the safe side.
    Hope this helps ya out...

I don't know why but I'm finding a 52k tractor hard to believe. Are you sure it wasn't 52k with the tractor + the 3 axle rgn? That would mean roughly 30k truck 22k trailer.. And I'm also saying that because a 70 ton cozad 2+2+2 should weigh more than 49k especially being a west coast. If it weighed 52300 you would almost need a permit to even bobtail (12+42k=54k). How the heck do you make a 20k truck weight 52k?

Sorry for the confusion...lol! Looks like I left out a few words. Yes, the 52k was truck plus 3 axle RGN. The Cozad 2+2+2 weighed by itself 47K. My empty weight with that trailer and a full tank of fuel was right around 76K. I also ran a 2+3+2 which put me into having to permit to run empty. Empty weight with truck and trailer was around 84k.

    #### u all. i quit the heavy haul in the late 90's the last load i pulled came out of Ariz. an underground uranium mining truck, (Glow In The Dark Kind ) went to Thunder Bay Ontario canada. paid 13.50 cents a mile but had a deadline of christmas eve or would have been sittin there till new years. made it with very little time to spare. bunch of drunk canuks at their christmas party unloaded it. I never laughed so hard in my life they got it caught on the dock and shot my truck and trailer clear out from under the load. they also busted the floor on the last 12 feet of my trailer and then replaced all the apitong wood floor with 1/2 plate steel. i sure did like that it gave me another 2" clearance on my triaxle tires. now i am missing it so much but i wont ever do it again, cant afford the truck or trailer and i really dont see how u guys are still buying fuel im sure the fuel surcharge has went up since then if they even still have it. ok guys have fun wish i was still out there. world famous coast to coast border to border the one and only FEVERBLISTER im gone bye bye

I'm out east and I run a dry box for my dad. $1500 on 325 miles and DH back for another. 4.50 for OSOW seems like you're being taking advantage of.

    People like @TripleSix @REO6205 @Rontonio

Would you agree that's on the cheap side?

Something just to remember in the back of your mind, is it can easily cost well over $600,000 to buy a HH rig if you get a custom trailer, jeep, and tractor. Insurance is going to run you a lot more than it will just pulling a van. And don't even try to calculate your fuel burn or you will make yourself sick.
Its often better to dable for several years with small equipment and then work your way up to the 80,000 pound plus equipment. Moved a 118,000 pound excavator last week, over roads not fit for man nor beast. If you're not comfortable driving 20 kms per hour for hours on end, this may not be the job for you. Including the hwy sections, my average speed was probably about 50 kms hour for the day, or about 30 mph.
