I'm thinking you smoked more than just "some of a joint". I've read and heard that they test for a certain level of pot. Anything below the minimum is not recorded as a positive test. Then again my information was all second hand so I could be wrong.

Your driving career may not be over before it starts but it's going to be one hell of an uphill battle to find a job. You may even have to move or wait 3-5 years to find a job. A failed drug test is no joke! Good luck!

I have friends that smoke pot. I use to smoke pot. I made a decision that I wanted truck driving to be my career choice. I made a decision to stop smoking pot. Simple as that. No matter how drunk you were...you made the decision. learn from your mistakes.

If i were you i would try to get a Job with waste management/garbage company or a concrete company. I'm not 100 % sure but I don't think they use DAC and if they don't at least it's a decent job using your cdl. Won't count as class a experience but it's a paycheck. Also a yard dog at a Walmart dc starts out over 15$ an hour butagain not ssure if that job would have someone looking at your DAC. Just my opinion.

Geez. Next time play Russian roulette if you want to do something stupid and crazy and maybe be able to continue life following the stupid act. What did you want us to say to you? Better luck next time? Easy mistake to make? Sucks to be you? A mistake is like an accident. You did not have an accident, you willingly did something stupid that you knew was going to get you dis-qualified.

What you are is self-destructive considering the line of work you chose to pursue and the form of recreation you chose to employ at the same time, and if you want to be self destructive, develop a severe gambling habit, but trucking is probably not the best line of work for you.

I'm sorry but I've had enough of the _______ who want to be ______ AND be professional drivers at the same time. PICK ONE!! (you can fill in the space with whatever adjective you want and that suits you)

That sounds fine and dandy until the OP gets to that part of the application where it asks if you've ever failed a drug test.

If you don't have he self control to keep sober the weekend before a drug test, you don't have the self control to stay sober before getting in a 40 ton truck.

Some ppl wanting to join this industry sure don't value it.One night of what they call fun not thinking about the upcoming drug test. When will you learn.I hope no company hires this person because the last thing we need is some pot head driving down the road high.A drug test question gets asked at least once a week sometimes more, and im fair with my replies.Someone that quit months to a yr before coming into this industry I cut them some slack. But ppl like you Jenn, come back in a few months if your completely dry from the weed.

Good point Patty....I value my future career! I live in a house with a very heavy pot smoker (my sister) If I "choose", I can get stoned out of my mind....I know where her stash is....I know where her bong and pipe are as well. I smell the pot in the house and hear her coughing every time she smokes. Im leaving for CDL school in about two weeks. I dont even go in her room because I want to be no where near that. My point is ...if you value your career or future career, no amount booze or anything else will cause you to risk that career that you value!

Now is the time to come to terms with what you really want. Do you want to drive a truck? If so....kick the weed. kick it to the curb 100%. perhaps you need to mature more? I know I did! I wanted to drive a truck for as long as I could remember, but when i was in my early 20's I was still a party hard kind of guy. I made a ton of bad choices. Im glad I got all that out of my system before I decided to start a career as a CDL holder.

To me it sounds like you may need to take more time to decide what you really want out of life. If you really still want to party and smoke pot....thats all good....you just cant do that and drive a truck. If you really want to drive a big truck on the big road then you must come to terms with what you will need to do in order to do that. One of them is being Drug free! You have to want it. Thats the only way you will do it. I had to do the same thing. its either pot or the truck. Cant have both. Take it seriously. A simple football game party scene did you in! You need to have more self control than that. You need to focus on what is really important to you....I cant stress that enough. Time to regroup, grow up, stay clean and get back on track. Failing drug test is for kids.....I have failed them in the past and it does not feel good. Either you continue to fail them or you shape up, step up and step forward.

Im bashing you in a constructive way. That was really stupid to do that right before you were to go for training...Im sure you that.....what you have to do is take your licks from everyone on this board and turn the embarresment, the foolish feeling, the utter stupidity that you chose to partake in.....take all of that and turn it into....focus, drive, determination to stay clean and reach your goals. If thats really what you want. if not...then keep smoking, find a career path that can let you do so....just remember it wont be in a truck! Good luck!
