Hello Y'all,
I am a 22yr old in Texas who just recently graduated a local trucking school with hazmat and tanker endorsements. I'm a brand new driver with limited oil field experience, with only about a year and a half at a Weatherford Barrel Tube plant. I'm really wanting to get into the service side of industry, BAD! If any of y'all old hands have some tips or advice I'm all ears! I'm looking for work RIGHT NOW and am having trouble finding companies willing to train an eager young man like my self!
Just Got out of truck driving school and trying to break into well service industry

Congrats!
most of the big companies will put you to work as a team driver. May not be what you wanted at first, but it's a easier way to get your 2 years experience. -
Thanks
Thats OTR though right? -
Mostly.
Best of luck to you!

East texas outsid of dfw

If you don't want to relocate, check around Kilgore/Longview for some of the majors in the well-service industry. Many of them have yards in either Longview or Kilgore. That will let you stay in the east Texas area.

You've also got trican and frac tech in dfw. If your just east of dfw there's not gonna be many options. If you can make it to midland odessa you'll have much better luck.

I am in Midland, just got here about 10 days ago. Graduated from Truck driving school two weeks ago.
Came from Central Texas.
I know of a company here that will hire you today. They have a place for you to sleep too. Driving flat bed with a dry chemical. You will be delivering the product to the drill rigs. Loading/Unloading with fork lift. The chem is used for mixing the mud they use for drilling. Solid gig. You get paid on your production. when you hustle, you can gross $1400-$1600 a week running 70 hours. Guys have made $2000 but ran hard to make that.
I dont work for them, but I got a couple friends from the same school where I graduated from who do.
I am reserving myself for Water/Vac or Crude cause I got plans to haul crude long term, plus I make #### good money just delivering pizza in the mean time.
This company does have tankers too, but I want 100% from the start.
PM me for the info...
To those it may concern: I do not receive any kickbacks from the company for this info. Just helping out.Thompysona and jte Thank this.
