[h=1]Dangerous Ice Storm Could Be on the Way for Midwest, Northeast[/h]
BY M. ALEX JOHNSONHere we go again.
Another in a seemingly endless string of brutal winter storms is gathering to unload its fury this weekend, starting as heavy snow Saturday in the Plains before moving east with the potential for treacherous ice accumulations Sunday and Monday from Ohio to Washington, D.C., and as far south as Tennessee, experts predict.

"This has been an unusual winter, with a lot of storms one right after the other," said Bob Becker, a maintenance engineer for the Missouri Transportation Department.
"All of the snowplows are on, the spreaders are in the trucks — all the equipment is ready to go for this weekend," Becker told NBC station KYTV of Springfield.

Ice could accumulate as far north as New York by Monday, with heavy snow across the entire Northeast. The remnants of the heavy rain system flooding parts of California were expected to drop 5 to 10 inches of snow beginning late Thursday night over an area stretching from Montana and Idaho south to Colorado and Utah, the National Weather Service said. Blizzard warnings were in effect Thursday night for parts of western Montana.
But it's a second system moving in right afterward that will cause the real havoc as it begins trekking east Saturday.
The storm will bring significant ice accumulation to much of the Ohio Valley by Sunday. Precisely where it will hit hardest depends on whether it trends north or south. If it edges north, dangerous ice will likely coat the streets, trees and power lines of major cities like Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio; if it tips south, the ice zone would be parked mainly over Tennessee and Kentucky.
Either way, the ice will then move into the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast, threatening to snarl the Monday morning commute in Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., according to The Weather Channel.
Heavy snow was expected around the ice storm, with as much as half a foot in Kansas City, Mo., St. Louis and Des Moines, Iowa, over the weekend and in New York and Boston by Monday.
"This is more likely than not to be a pretty big snow storm," said Greg Postel, a severe weather specialist for The Weather Channel.

Still stuck at the TA in Rockwall. I should walk down to the terminal and say hi to Cornelius and Ty. Wonder if Calico is still there?

One good thing about the Rockwall term, laundry is free. Bring in a load and give it a spin.

Im happy it's payday cause I just bounced myself back out of an $1100 hole ((downtime for maintenence, being sick, and crappy miles)) and next week will have a better paycheck while on hometime. Im stoked. After hometime will hurt because I will be home up to 5 days depending on what happens after my PP, but I will roll with it and dump my TAL into the negative to help. Keep in mind, in my situation, I dont have to make money. Im here to buy a truck, and just need to survive. TransAm will give me advances as needed to feed me and I just gotta drive myself out of the hole. My husbands income covers our minimal expenses and anything I bring home is just icing on the cake.

Im sitting at the Pilot in OKC. Deliver in Pauls Valley later on then roll up to Dodge. Pick up a load at National Beef after a 10 then heading to Oak Grove to hang out with a friend tomorrow. Deliver 1st stop Monday in AL and second stop Tues in GA. From there I will either go home or play the swap game. HT was requested to get home Thurs night, but at this point I dont care if I go home early. I could use the vacation. All in all, Im a very happy badger.

passport220 Thanks this.

I am broke down, some kind of emissions problem me thinks. Lucky it all went wrong just as I was pulling away from a truck stop so I was able to limp back to a parking spot and not be stuck out on the interstate. Got 80 mile tow this morning to here at a KW dealer in central Florida.
