I also liked my DM. It seems to me, the new system doesn't allow for that personal communication.
My former DM called me yesterday to see how I was doing. Kinda surprised me really. We had a good relationship, albeit brief. He told me, if I ever want to come back, give him a call, he would hook me up with the right people.
I thanked him for all he did for me. I also made it clear, he had nothing to do with my decision to leave the company. I also told him after having some time to think about, I probably made a hasty decision and not giving it a little more time.

I think a lot of folk did the same thing... Jumped/left/moved on. I hope things go well for you...

I also agree that I really don't like at we can't communicate directly with OUR DM... The message goes in a pot and all can see it... Also that return messages aren't signed, so you have no idea who sent it!

    clayshot Thanks this.

I think that depends on the DM. Most of the DMs from my terminal sign their messages. There are a few of the after hours crew that don't and it is a little annoying/confusing. Especially if it's an ongoing issue and you say,"well someone said this" and they say,"who" and you say," I dunno".

I agree with you both. When I started with Central, everybody for the most part signed a name to messages. After Swift, same thing as you describe Brocelli, messages came in unsigned.
Every time I sent a message I felt like I needed to start it with, "To whom it may concern".
If all the messages go into one pot, how are the DM's suppose to weed thru all the chaff to take care of their drivers?

If it is normal business hours and my DM is there I start the message with his name that way he knows it is for him. I usually get a faster response that way

We do that too... And by the 'tone' of the return message we can usually tell it's her replying.

Anyone else get a message they have to take a hazmat test ?

Something else is weird , my truck starts yelling at me if I let it idle for more then a minute, it says force stop idle or something what is that all about ?

Now this is crazy , stoped today to grad a bite to eat . I come back out and the Qualcomm says critical event , like oh great in 15 mins inside someone hit my truck ( great ). Nope
here I went over the governed speed ( lol ) I wasn't even going the speed limit yet .
now I have to watch some video or something is.

Oh and this mad me laugh really hard , got a message the other day , low clearances. I called my DM and said what's this all about ? I know how to read a map , and the message came about a hour to late anyways.

I did however have a good time being off for 4 days .lol
    ( I got a little drunk one night )

Then come back to work , try to fix a light so I don't have to deal with waiting forever somewhere , and cut a big chunk out of my finger . Thats what happens when your in a hurry not to mention freezing your but off.. oh well lessons learned. :biggrin_2559:

Someone is brain dead... I'm at home off duty, not even in the truck and the QC says I'm in violation of the passenger rule... The truck hasn't even been ran not less moved....
But even with me being at home if I leave myself in the sleeper it is a log violation....

    Haha haha that's messed up.
Thats another thing , I told them I was taking the truck to freightliner over the weekend so I was gonna log off , that way if they drive it it dosent count for my time . Got a message saying I can't use the truck for personal use .
haha haha I blew that off thought because I have a paper saying they did a road test Monday.

Sounds like the Twilight Zone for you Central drivers.
Are you sure you originated in our local space/time?

    It would explain a lot!
