You will still be able to run highway speeds, but you really do not need to be doing 70mph with an oversize.
You wanna run 70 with that kind of ld. go back to being a door slammer.. just my thoughts

Not interested in being a bull hauler. LOL.
No. I didn't mean running high speeds with a load, but, I did mean running up to 63 empty to get to the customer in order to pick up the load. Concerns with such a low gear ratio and hurting the engine with highway speeds.
Thanks -
Well I have an 18 speed and 3:90 rears. Gear bound at 72 mph. Running a series 60 detroit
-
I run 4.10 rear ends on 11R22.5 rubber, that's the equivelant of 4.30 on 11R24.5's. Engine runs basically at 1500RPM at 60MPH...1520 is 62. You won't hurt your motor at those revs. -
Use the Eaton Roadranger speed calculator. You can see what speeds you will run with what size tire, what rpm, and what final gear ratio of the transmission.

18 and 13 speeds have a .73 Final ratio -
speaking of tires.....
What size tires (24s, 22s) are used in heavy haul.
Steers are I though are different then road tires. (OTR)
Can Super singles still be used? Is there a heavy SS tire to take the heavier weights??
Front axles are also heavier than OTR trucks as well 14K, 16K.
Ahhhh. Brakes. next subject.. -
I think the majority run 11R22.5's
Most four axle trucks run wider than normal tires to carry the weight, also known as "floats."
I haven't seen anyone running them on a four axle truck.
Most of them yes, mine has a 20k front axle.
Brakes are already set up based on the axle they are going on. -
Most short haul guys run 11R24.5 tires..... They are rated for like 600ibs more than a 22.5 tire(both H rated)....
Plus gives a little more ground clearance ... -
Is anyone running a Eaton ultrashift plus 18 spd and two speed rears?
-
Great question re gears. I hear, there are two styles of additional gearing. 2 speed rears and an aux transmission. I hear that the Aux trans is something
that can't be shifted on the fly. The way to go is the 2 speed rear end. It can be shifted on the fly.
Is this correct?
