I've been with Millis for about 2 years and was one of the first trucks to get the camera. It's really not a big deal as long as you aren't doing anything stupid. I actually set mine off quite a bit because it is too sensitive on turns, but they never say anything to me about it. I think they've sent me a message about something it caught maybe 3 times in almost a year.
As for miles, I run between 2500 and 3000 most weeks. Occasionally I have a slower week, and sometimes I have a week higher than 3000. If you run, stay out of trouble, and don't get on your dispatchers naughty list, miles are almost never a problem. You tend to see the same handful of guys sitting at the terminals complaining about miles. Regional could be a different story though, those guys seem to fluctuate a lot more on the miles.hillbillywilly Thanks this. -
Unless some miracle happens they will not. They primarily hire east of the Mississippi which is also where we run primarily. Loads to the west coast are very rare at Millis, and they won't hire out of an area if they don't have freight there consistently. They want to make sure they can get you to the house.

How are things going guccimane? I like the info you have given about Millis. I did have a question about where training takes place. I live in Tennessee and Millis has a training center in Cartersville, GA (190 miles south of me). Would that mean my CDL be issued in my home State of Tn or in Ga? Also, how long does Millis require if they pay for school, and is there the option for me to pay for the school up front and have no Contract? Thanks for the info

CDL will be issued in Tennessee...You commit to then for two years to pay of the school debt...you would have to call Millis for that last question.

After you go through school, Millis will route you through your home state with your trainer to test for your CDL. The total cost of school is 5000. 2500 for the school portion and 2500 for the OTR training portion. After the first year the OTR portion is forgiven. The school portion you pay 500 up front and then the balance is deducted at a rate of 20 weekly so takes almost two years at that rate. You can have them deduct a larger amount if you wanted to pay it off faster. You could pay up front if you wanted to, but it's interest free and you won't have much luck finding anyone to hire you without at least a year of experience anyway.hillbillywilly Thanks this.

Driver-facing cameras have been a hot-button topic since being introduced, but has been debated more fiercely since large carriers have been experimenting with pilot programs that even go as far as scanning a drivers facial features to look for signs of fatigue.

Hey Gucci thanks for the info man keep it up! I'm glad to know I don't have a one shot ordeal to pass the test but Id rather not fail either!
Actually I don't want to step on anyones toes about the classes... and it may not be the same as what Im going to deal with but here in Wisconsin the school for Millis sends you an employment agreement.
For what I read its not a two year agreement... Millis specifically says you have to work for them for ONE year of employment.... you pay 500 up front, and promise to pay back 2000 of this over the course of the year you work for them... and I quote the last part " That after Second Party completes One (1) year of employment, the tuition will be forfeited by the First Party.
Now from what I gathered from that... Once I complete a year with Millis... and pay 20 dollars a week for the schooling... after the year I will not have to pay another dime to them...
To verify I will let you guys know after I talk to them on Monday.
Gucci! keep it up man! your information has given me a lot of confidence I didn't have an hour ago!!!! -
Things may have changed, but as far as I know, based on my experience, they only forgive the second 2500 after that year. I know I still seeing 20 deductions for a couple more months and I am a bit over 18 months in with Millis.
