Being Canadian

Well, a little late to the game but for my 2c (and for fun fact) 1930 J.Miller (ontario dept trans) came up with the idea of painting lines on the roads...Neil Harpham also Canadian came up with the reflective safety paint used on those lines ....

Oh and smarties in the USA are what we call rockets here(those powdery tablets that u get at halloween with the twisted ends)

 

And I always thought it was "Driving While under the Influence" - I think they dropped the U so we could be diff than our southernly nEHbours

Yes we do have a complex aboout our identity. Partially because of the percieced threat from the south and Quebec and partially because we feel a real need to differenciate ourselves from Limeys and the 'Mercans) So to the canadians - dont be so sensitive - we are Canadians and we dont need to belittle others to feel bettter. And to the Americans- dont make fun of a Canadian cuz bullying is finally illegal - be nice or we'll sick Rob Ford on Y'all

 

As a Northern Ontarian who was in French Immersion program form kindergarten (anglophone kids taught french all day save for english class) I have lived and worked in Ontario and Quebec. I have found that it is the media and the polititians that are the real cause of the striffe and tention betwix the Canadian and the Canadienne.

and a major Pro for Canada and being Canadian: French Canadian girls!!! mmmm jaime trop!! (meaning I love them too much!)
