You're right. But I'd really, really, want to.

 

my camera will download videos to the server between 130-330 am 7 days a week even if there is nothing to send when downloading the red light will blink for 30-240 seconds and turn the green back on.It is not recording unless green and red lights flashing at same time just red only means nothing also if the g force activates camera but no change is made in movement or speed when done recording green light comes back on which means nothing was recorded(ex. pothole in road ,dont let off fuel and slow movement of truck it wont record) hit hole and slow down it will record..you only have a recorded event if red light stays on after recording you can also download video if you have an event (red light) by pushing both buttons on bottom for about 10 seconds or take a video by pushing one of the buttons..I have had the camera for about 6 months .do I like it? NO..after acouple of weeks of being mad I forgot about ..I pay no attention to it now.just do what your supposed to and forget about it..we are not allowed to use cb or cellphone and must have seatbelt on anytime in forward motion...missed my phone and bluetooth for a while but got used to it...I dont agree with it but Im not going to quit a good job that Ive been with for 15 years and go elsewhere for half the money and crappy retirement...just a decision a man has to make...

 

Thank you CC was thinking about starting a Drive Cam truckers thread, but you pretty much gave me what I needed to know. I will have had mine for a week now and except for that one time the other day. The recording thing hasn't came on and I've hit pot holes, rumble strips in towns, toll booth rumble strips, was passing somebody and went a little 2 far to the left, and nothing. So I'm really not worried about it. Like you said I forget it's there until I want to do something that I shouldn't be doing anyway. I was in Houston today and there was a big box in the middle of the road going the other way I'm sure the drive cam would of came in handy for those who couldn't avoid hitting it. Not sure if anything was in it or not, but just glad it wasn't there when I was going that way earlier. Nighty night time.

 

in the six months Ive had it its went off 13 times total never on rumble strips once going around turn coming off rough bridge three times big pot holes (IN) the rest of the times were maneuvering at customer sights jacknifing while backing into tight holes in bumpy or unlevel lots and twice at Pilots (Erie PA & Eaton OH) I drive a cascadia it and the columbias seem to have way less events than the prostars . we run all air ride tankers Ive talked to guys that run spring ride tankers they say that makes a big difference also...its my understanding that the sensitivity can be changed also,we have 12 drivers at our terminal all in all after the first 2-3 weeks nobody has any major issues( not that anybody likes them) if you drive like you should its not a big deal. The possible abuse of the way a company can use them is what I think sucks the most. Randy not being with jbs any longer is a big plus I must say. Dinomite can you even tell a difference in the safety depart with him gone? Hes the one that fired me and than quit a week late :/ lol

 

Funny thing is I have been there all this time, and I don't even know what he looked like. Only guy I remember is the guy who he replaced with the cool name. Can't even think of it now. I don't even know who Randy's replacement is and hope to keep it that way. From all the guys who come on here and say they were fired I guess things are still the same I don't know.

 

There are plenty of those out here in Texas too!
