Thanks for all the info you have put up about System! I have been searching this company for quite some time, and came up with very little until now. I will be joining the System family in March as an OTR! Been swinging doors for a year, but always wanted to run flatbed.
Milktanker Thanks this. -
I was in the same spot as you when doing my preliminary research as well. I just had to take a jump at some point and i don't regret it
. It's hard work sometimes, but i can't imagine pulling a van at this point.
Airborne and blackSheep07 Thank this. -
I haven't heard of a bob on the pole fleet. Brett is the fleet manager now and he has a guy working with him named rich. Rich drove on the pole fleet up until October I believe. They are a good team together. What questions do you have about border crossing?

I was running with Watkins Shepard before this both on the van and flatbed division. I have been very happy with the change.blackSheep07 Thanks this.

I'm glad to hear that.
I have a million questions, but at this point i just need to know enough to get me in and out of there.
1.What paperwork is necessary to get into Canada?
-What needs to be done with the paperwork (IE the lead sheet needs to be stamped going in?)
-How is the paperwork usually obtained? I have a printer in my truck, but i hear the standard protocol is to have it faxed to a truck stop near the border?
2. What paperwork is necessary to get out of Canada?
3.Are 6'' fixed blade knives allowed?
I know i need to set my clock over to CAN Main when i move over there. As far as fueling and routing do we still get the solution and suggestion like in the lower 48 or do you just figure it out on your own? -
You will still get a fuel solution and routing for up there
-
Where in alberta are you going? I used to do a dedicated run up to edmonton for Watkins. I assume they have you crossing at sweet grass?
-
Calgary. That's another question how do you know where your supposed to cross? Hopefully weekend dispatch can answer most of these ?'s

1.) Just need a PARS sticker going in. Put that on your Customs invoice (receiver SHOULD provide this) and we had to write the first four characters and then our six digit load number underneath it. We have an awesome customs lady that takes care of the rest. If you haven't received notice that you've been cleared, please save yourself (and everyone else) the hassle and park before reaching the border. Faxes will be needed for going back into the States.
2.) You will need a PAPS sticker and do the same thing with did with #1. You will become familiar with the Husky in Cranbrook, BC. Whenever I would pick up my faxed copy of my clearance back into the States, I would see a bunch of System ones as well.
3.) 4" was last I've heard before it's considered a weapon. You can google the can/cannots about what you can bring in/bring out of Canada. You can't bring citrus fruits back in from Canada, found that out the hard way, even if I did buy them in the States. Once they crossed they became null and void.
Good Luck. I rarely spent more than 5 minutes at the booth going either way, just make sure everything is in order.
