I enjoy reading other threads about peoples journey to and in the oil field so I thought I would start my own I have to take care of a couple things next week and I'm leaving for ND either 10th or the 11th of March.

I already have a job lined up hauling fresh water and man camp housing is lined up as well I wanted to be as prepared as possible before venturing out! I will not post the companies name in public or in pm until I know what the social media policy is I don't want to get fired before I get a job lol!

I will try to keep the thread up to date when I get out there with my experience as so many other people have I really appreciate this forum and all the help the users provide it really helps us noobies out!

I'm living in what sounds like the same type of skid house but mine has 3 bunk beds on each side with eight roommates plus myself.

Will you say what your starting salary is?

    Be safe.

Starting at $20/hour plus time and a half after 40hrs driving a fresh water truck. What do you do in the oil field?

I drive a vac truck also and haul all kinds of oil field fluids: oil base mud (OBM); OBM waste, water base mud, WBM waste, fresh, salt and waste water. Although I never hauled it some drivers have hauled waste concrete.

After 3 mo. I was raised to $20. With free room. To clarify rom my last post both rooms have 3 bunk beds; my room has 3 & the other room has 6 people so when it's slow, as it is now, there can be a lot of people in the common room which has only a 3 seat couch.

im really thinking about going up to ND. in May (I'll have a year in CDL then) but I looked @ some websites and I've seen $25 days-$27 nights min. If most jobs are paying on the lower end of $20 then it wouldn't be worth the effort to move up there.

Can I ask you how is you possibility of a raise or your co. pays scale?

Anyone else can give thoughts on salary up there.

    Thanks

    Patrickm213 Thanks this.
