Indian River Transport, Co. - Winter Haven, FL.?

Just talked to a 70+ old driver in Clovis who runs 16,500 miles a month. Says he wishes these new drivers would learn how to work as he's tired. Clovis is where the money is!!!

 

sounds like he has built up a few trucker stories along the way

 

I have pulled out of clovis few times nothing special I seen had to wait whole day one time on a load but I will say I had lot of 3000 mile weeks or more but I loved going to California then to Washington back down to Bradenton I hated the northeast told them that and they started sending me to the west that's been over a year ago don't know how it is now I was at the dot physical for this other job I got and a van of load of people pulled up to do there physicals from indian river but I will say I made good money there just got tired of being gone weeks at a time

 

I am thinking about returning to IRT but would run 48 instead of I5 regional, need more miles. My only problem is all of the outlaw runners out there with IRT. Their safety score on hours of service and driver fitness are both in the 80% range. This means more visits to the inspection bay and no pre pass.

 

Pay is the same now loaded or empty.

 

The bad safety score kind of scared me away some. I like the paper logs but don't feel like getting inspected everytime I cross a scale

 

16,500 miles a month, a lot of bull I say. The Clovis location will run you really hard. With multiple logs he may run that many miles but not legally.

 

I got 2 conflicting pieces of information. The recruiter told me that orientation starts on Monday, I got a phone call on Friday that my orientation starts on Tuesday 8am, which is it?

 

Probably best to call them back, I don't really think anyone on here would have that information

 

Mine started on a Monday but that was two years ago
