Fellas, its good to see this site has been drastically updated from last. id have to say i probably havent even been on this site since 2005-2006. I am leaving my active duty status and looking to hit the road again....of course my experience in the military leaves me wanting to own my own truck and lease to a company.....any advice? need to finance a truck as well. any recommendation would be greatly appreciated!

Cardinal Logistics has a pretty good program. They will help you get financing and you will haul their freight; it's not a lease purchase either. The website is driveforcardinal
Consider joining OOIDA for the business part of being an owner-operator.
Lots of vets going into trucking since the big RIF started. I'm a vet also. -
I will definitely join OOIDA....you know as well as i do the military doesnt pay enough to be able to sock away a ton of money.

Hi there.
If you haven't been to the forum since 2006, there have been a lot of changes in trucking since then, so be sure and look at the date of the post before taking it to heart.
Lots to read and learn from here. Have fun.
