That the reason I hardly ever leave the mid west or mid south areas.

Yah you have to turn that garbage down with panther unless you get a good bonus plus money upfront to cover the empty move out usually i figured it needed to be about three dollars a mile into fl or denver .....and i would haul cheap stuff out as a bonus or dh out but you have to cover yourself getting into areas like that never just for the contract rate and they will pay if you turn it down three or four times

They probably sucker lots of newbies like that. So now you know Denver is a lousy outbound market and you better get as close to a round trip on the rate as possible, or do not accept it. Can be an expensive lesson.

Expensive is right. Between the two of us, we've probably both lost better than $500 a piece so far this week. The thing that bugs me is I asked for layover and other incentives and was told that they weren't available. Yet, the Panther truck who shows up two days after us got them. He also got top of the board and bumped us down. 'First out?' No. Sorry. That doesn't work for me. We were there two days before him and stayed fully available. We shouldn't have been bumped.

Get on google maps and draw a 400 mile radius circle centered on Toledo, OH. Then deadhead to the nearest edge of that circle. Never leave that circle again, unless the load pays all costs per mile plus wage to deadhead back to that circle.

OR, Colorado is a lovely place to relocate to. Lots of outdoors activities, micro-breweries, and a music scene. Recreational pot is legal, people are laid back, skiing is awesome. Rent a car and go knock on doors and fill out applications. Oilfield driving jobs are hiring too

Just to update: We took an empty move to Kansas City, MO last night. Since then, we're still sitting, if you can believe it. Add, we slid down the board again. We were #1 last night. Still available nonstop. This is now no work since Friday. What the heck.

Ya need to get and stay east of the Mississippi River. I always considered anything west of it as a dead end, so negotiated bonuses to run it. If dispatch seays no - refuse the load. It used to be easy to negotiate, but now they use non Panther trucks to run it cheap if ya don't take it...Still, no sense to running a decent load when you'll just end up sitting. Panther used to be the best expediter out there til ABF bought 'em.
