I was thinking Roehl or Schnieder; although I haven't heard them being called mills.
Buliders Transportation looked great, untill........ I went onto their site and saw that Maryland is not in their hiring area! (d*** it! They looked good too!!!) I will call just in case though. It is ok! If I can deal with the Jack ##*es I had to deal with in EMS... I can probably deal with other Jack ##*es.

And yet a few (very few) drivers stay with these "mills" for years. I know one driver that had over ten years with SWIFT. Said he felt like he had found a home there.
He actually seemed like a realtively intelligent fella too. . . -
That magic number... ONE YEAR... :smt011

I wasted four months with another company and then went to Roehl. I wish I had started here first. They have several hometime options (I went with the 7/4,7/3) With a family at home I love the predicability, you leave on Wednesday get home on Tuesday or Wednesday one week and the next time leave on Saturday and get home Friday or Saturday. They need you to get back because another driver is waiting for your truck. I would like to see more miles but I figure that will come when they see I really can drive. On the 7/4,7/3 you are still scheduled for 21 days of driving a month.
They aren't perfect, but so far they own up to and try to fix their mistakes. I also like the fact that they are serious about their drivers staying legal. You can still get miles if you keep your seat in the left seat and the wheels turning. If you qualcom and don't get an answer, pick up the phone you will get a live person on the other end. I had to go through a lot of garbage before finding a decent company and I hope my first impression is a lasting one. -
So how do we get the big companies to listen? I for one thought truckers made good money. No way, I am finding out when I seem to pay everything and I am downright tired of it. What can be done? How do we make these companies understand that these drivers are people like themselves and they have families?
I loved you post!
