Terry thanks for the insight, that really helps. So what is your average gross now that you are on Line Haul? Long Haul sounds good to me, just as long as I am home every 2-3 weeks. Again, thank you for your time.

    Thanks.

Depending on many different factors it is between $800.00 to $1,000.00 with an average around $900.00. I see some signs of this picking up. There is really no reason why I couldn't keep it at $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 other than the economy at the moment. I am considering becoming a trainer which will help my income, though that isn't what you are asking.

Terry - Can you get it done in the 11/14 and log accordingly, or are you pressed to go outside your log?

I run a strictly legal log and I get it done. I, also, communicate with my FM about delays and have appointment times changed if necessay. The only pressure you will ever have is to maximize yout Hours of Service, not cheat, just get it done without cheating. Of course, you will be tempted to cheat, obviously, that could mean more money to you.

I will be late or not make delivery on Monday. Some noises started coming from engine on the way home Friday. I discovered the turbo is missing a bolt and a nut off another bolt and the gasket is coming out. I have to take it to the Peterbilt Dealership first thing Monday morning.

Good to hear that TMC doesn't expect a driver to break the law on HOS. Sorry to hear about the turbo problem on your rig, do you have a lot of problems with it or just every now and then? How old is your TMC truck? post some pictures of it if you can, I would love to see what they really look like on the inside and how much room you do or don't have.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear that a full day is sufficient to meet the company and driver's goals, and that the driver isn't pushed to put himself illegal. Sorry to hear about your potential downtime for maintenance.

I read somewhere in one of the posts that TMC doesn't allow inverters? Is this true? If so, how do the drivers get by for living power such as cooler/fridge, laptop, small microwave/cooker, etc?

I rarely have problems with the truck. Though, I have heard of other drivers having a turbo problem. It just might be a common problem with the 379/s.

I have a 2007 379. It has about 65,000 miles on it now. I got it when it had 23,000 miles. I don't have any pictures at the moment. I would have to clean it spotless before I would publish any pictures. No, not fear from the company, I'm just that way.

It has enough room for one person. The only tight spot is getting to the sleeper between the seats. I am not an overly large person, I have a few extra pounds and I'm 6'1". I was in the military for a long time and I am used to living out of a seabag. I have plenty of room.

I'll work on the pictures. You know you can go to Peterbilt's Websight and get an interactive view of their trucks interior?

Inverters of any size are forbidden. We all use coolers rather than refridgerators. You should get the proper travel type power for you computer, it has the correct frequency and is better for your computer. I am still waiting on the Wave Box that still hasn't been released to use as a microwave.

Other than CDL school, my entire trucking career has been with TMC, so maybe I don't know what I am missing, to me none of this is a big deal.

That sounds workable. I'll be getting my CDL this summer and hope to be applying to TMC by August. Thanks for all the helpful info!
