Anybody know what information 1 trucking company can provide another with during a verification call? I had 3 backing accident in my first six months of driving, all minor damage. It was like 7500 for all three, but they are still accidents. I have checked my DAC, DMV, & CSA they are all clean. So can my current company tell my potential company about them? In the job place an employer can only disclose dates of employment and rehire status of a employee. I don't know if that applies in truck driving. Any answer would help. Thnx

Your past employers will tell them if they ask.But the application will ask if any accidents.Better put those 3 down because the company you work for will find out. Then guess what, they'll fire you for not putting those on the app.How long ago did those backing accidents occur?Could be months before it hits your DAC.

Where you get that a former employer can only disclose dates of employment and rehire status of a employee? That may be what a lot of employers do to avoid litigation but there are no federal limitations to disclosure. There may be some state laws that limit disclosure but not just to dates of employment and rehire status of a employee. There is such a thing as employment history and that is not just to benefit an employee.

Just $7500 for all three, how would you feel if that $7500 was taken out of your pay checks?

Did you quit the last place after the crashes or were you shown the door out?
Then they might say no for rehire,if shown the way out..
    I know I would'nt rehire a driver like that

The best thing for you to do is be totally honest with any employer you may apply to. If these 3 accidents are related to poor or inadequate training you may have received, then let them know. Just be honest now, rather than have the truth catch up to you later. I wish you well.
