I called and talked with Marsha today, thinking about coming over to ACT. We talked about the difference between the two leases, both the 8000 and the LP. I would rather do the lp instead of the 8000, because I would rather have a truck to show for the hard work and sacrifice that a lease can take. Hopefully i may soon be joining you guys there at ACT. Sounds like a great place to work.

    stormy379 and Jaguar115 Thank this.

It is a great place... and you can actually pay off and finish the lease unlike many others out there. It's a business and you just can't think of it like a company driver. Sometimes you'll have to sacrifice a day off or vacation or take it at a different time... Many have done it, many have tried... it's what you make out of it. This year weather could be a bit nicer lol.

One of these days I'll learn to ask instead of listening to driver rumors. .smh

I'm glad ACT is still offering the 4000 series lease. .. if anyone would know. . It's Marsha.

Marsha is working her tail off filling trucks. . Rumor has it there was 10 in orientation this week.

Good luck.. you'll enjoy it. . ACT is a good place to be.

I won't bore you with a lot of blah blah blah. . But I wanted to share something that happened today.

I'm rolling down 55 out of Chicago. . Loaded with hazmat. . Let's just say I have placards in place that encourages 4 wheelers to give me plenty of room. .I even saw a couple state troopers do double takes.

Anyway, this is what I wanted to share. .

I'm in the right lane staying close to the fog line when I notice a car passing me. I didn't think much about it but I happened to look down as it got just past my door. An older man. . Probably 80 was looking up at me. . He smiled and waved. .I smiled And waved back. That older gentlemen, took away all of my burdens, all of my frustration (That I wasnt even aware of) in a split second. I found myself smiling for miles. . Thinking of it now makes me smile.

I never realized how wrapped up we get in our own little worlds. . And how a simple wave and a smile can brighten someone's day.

    Thanks

I know what you mean. The other day a car rolled up along side of me and I look to see a young little girl, maybe 3 years old, anyhow she's pumping her little arm up and down just waiting for me to Blow that air horn. Of course I did and she gave me the biggest smile ever. I was in a pretty happy mood for the rest of the day.

    Well I had a great weekend. .

I got back to the yard yesterday afternoon. . There was a BUNCH of trucks there. . Which to me is abnormal. .I walked the yard and found no empty trailers. .ugh

So I got a good night's sleep. . Got up and made coffee. . Then walked the yard again. .And found an empty where the loaded trailers usually are.. then found out the trailer was supposed to be out of service since December. .I asked the shop and it had been fixed. . Just not entered in the computer. .ugh

So I was offered 3 loads. .I took one going to Decatur AL..I know I will deliver and reload going to Munster IN.. right into the heart of our freight lane. .

I'm sitting in Matthews MO. . It was a beautiful day in southern Missouri. .

    Be safe

I'm at the Pilot in Decatur AL..

It's hot.! 86 degrees. . But I'm NOT complaining. .I am sitting in the AC drinking an ice cold strawberry lemonade bought at Wendy's. :)

I deliver tomorrow morning. . The receiver is just a few miles away. . There is a company ACT truck next to me. . He must be watching tv.. has front curtains pulled shut.. I might break down and buy a tv..I usually don't have a lot of down time, but when I do, it would help with the boredom. I saw Wal-Mart has 20" flat screens for 98 $. Maybe tomorrow, I need to restock my cooler anyway.

Not much going on. . Everything seems almost to quiet.

    Be safe.

The company driver I was parked next to magically appeared lol. .I rolled the window down and asked where he was delivering. . Same place as me. . Carrying same product. . Same appointment time. .cool

We bs' d for a bit, found out he has only been with ACT 6 months. .I asked if he knew how to get to the receiver? Said his GPS did. I told him it was next to a shipper we pull out of all the time. . That he could follow me, I was getting back on the interstate instead of battling the lights thru town. (My way 12 miles, his way 9).. he said that he was going thru town. Ok c'ya there.

I got up this morning. . Went inside to get coffee.. when I came out he was doing a walk around. .I checked my tires and lights. . Did a tug test and left the truck stop. I went left and he went right. .i pulled into the receiver at 0615..I left receiver at 0810.. And never did see the company truck? Then I REMEMBERED why I didn't like going thru town. .I had made the mistake of following my truckers gps to the above referenced shipper. . It takes you into a upper class residential neighborhood! Narrow streets and tight turns. .IF you make it thru, it dumps you out in a little league baseball complex and a non truck route. Ugh! (Been there done that and never ever told anyone) I completely forgot about that SNAFU..I'll bet that's where he ended up.

I loaded at GE in Decatur and delivering d/h in Munster IN. I'm 150 miles from delivery. .I stopped to take my 30 minute DOT break. . And made the mistake of eating some pizza.. now I'm tired.

I'll get up in the morning and fight Indy traffic. .joy
