I am thinking about starting my own trucking company and if I could find enough drivers that have only wrecked three times and caused under $7500.00 in damage I'm pretty sure I could put them all in new trucks and trailers, get them home every day, and make a huge profit! What's the old saying, apparently this driver COULD hit the broad side of a barn !

Those happened in my first six months of driving. I didn't really understand how the trailer moved yet. Yes they were accidents and my fault. They all happened before Sept 2012. I check my DAC 03/2013 and 03/2014 they are not on there at all.

Two years driving and already you have had three accidents. I haven't had that many in 45 yrs. You need to be a lot more cautious and slow down. Speed is a major cause of accidents whether you are going forward or backward.

It's a federal employment law. I'm sure I could find it somewhere to give you exact legal terms. I paid 3000 of that out of pocket since I leased a truck had to pay the 1000 deductible every time. So it did come out of pocket. I even got some of that money back because the repairs were less then the deductible I paid.

I believe you are correct about that, my wife is in HR and she has always told me that. But being illegal will not always stop an employer.

I was put on a 1yr probation period. I passed the probation period. I'm still driving for that carrier. Just thinking it's time to move on now.

Oh yes my feelings are so hurt! I think I'm going to cry! I really appreciate your pointless jabs. None of your comments answer my question so as far as I'm concerned it's just needless rubbish. You must really be proud to come on and try to put others down. I guess your perfect! Go on then Mr. Perfect.

That's great. Good one!

really? Please cite which law. What title and chapter of the United States Code or code of federal regulations prohibit employers from giving references....

If you apply for a job as a driver with a company that falls under the jurisdiction of the FMCSA (Interstate carriers), the below link will show the minimum requirements that must be included on an application you would fill out. The employer you are attempting to gain employment with may request additional information from former employers. It then comes down to how much information a former employer decides it will provide. Some companies are reluctant to provide information that is subjective and not fact based, whereas some employers have been known to commit outright slander against a driver. It is best when separating from an employer, especially when voluntary, to provide a written resignation to them and retain for at least 10 years. This way if an employer falsely depicts the reason for separation, you then have factual information to dispute and/or seek legal damages against such an employer.
