I have to have the flip down or end up with like 10k on the steer when I put the lift axle down. Most of the 55 tons I looked at had either 24 or 26' wells
Where is everyone #2!!

That is a pretty healthy load!
Right now I am running a 35 ton Fontane Mech RGN after the neck broke off that XL Specialized I was hauling last week.
Been looking for my own trailer, have been looking at the Murray's their 16 tire professional looks like a pretty sweet trailer, not a lot of them out there for sale though. but do find some that are really old. I get the impression those who have them really like them.
I saw a couple of them on the road today, they look pretty cool with the back end all widened out, I would think it would make the load ride better too, although there is always the issue with a wider footprint of clipping the ditch on corners.Sleepy68 Thanks this. -
The Murray trailers are pretty spendy, I think. They are also super light, like 12k and super short. When I loaded in Galveston last time I watched a guy load a 350 excavator over the back, scared the hell out of me. Would love to find an old 16 tire in good shape as I enjoy running the west and you can load them reasonably heavy - 60k on the 2 wide axles in the southwest. So with a 4 axle tractor with an empty weight of like 27k you could have an empty weight of like 40k and loaded gross around 130k.
I traded my 35 ton XL with flip for this trail king. I never had any issue with my XL and regularly loaded it with 60k, mine was an 07. I did get a lot of flex going down the road with it. -
On their interstate line they guarantee 46k net load in 50 states and Canada, that is with a 20' deck.
I think where you gain with the Murray is with the back being so low you aren't forced to put things so far forward.
I think for a big machine id still be dropping the neck, but having the over the rear option would be nice. Especially time wise, I know it saves a lot of wear and tear on the drive-line too not having to slam the neck up the ramps. -

sounds like he loading in Pennsauken,nj . there is no rhyme or reason to their stop patteren.
I once pulled a return from Miami to Pennsauken. was one 4 x 8 bundle 2 foot high weighed not evn 100 pounds, paid the truck 1.95 on exclusive use (had to tarp it though. was like finding a pot of gold outta Miami on a flatbed, was 2300 to the truck for 400 bucks worth of foam board, that's not even figuring mercer's cut above my 1.95Cluck Cluck, Ruthless and milskired Thank this. -
I must have called on one of those loads a couple weeks ago. I may have laughed

It could've gone on a freight truck and been delivered the next day for $100 sometimes people are silly
