My trainer said that parking on the fuel island for our 30 minute break is perfectly fine, they cant make us move. That is against the law and the U.S. Marshalls will arrest anybody who tries.

Not to get too far off subject, but does anyone know if Werner will pay for my hotel durning training, and if I can have a pet in my truck if I go with Schneider?? I live in Florida and want to drive a truck but I only want to work Mon-Fri and I have to be home on Friday by noon..... And I will be going to driving school as soon as I graduate high school ......

I'm getting tired of these disrespectful ### hole "drivers". I mean have a little respect for yourself and your Co Workers and the person who's name is on your door. And the business that's allowing you to park there. I feel absolutely no animosity towards any business who doesn't allow trucks to park on their property. These people dumping their coffee out on the fuel island. Emptying their ash trays in the parking lot. On a nice warm day how embarrassing is it that the lot we park out $150k rigs smells like urine? It's no wonder were treated like animals and states are closing rest areas. When things are mistreated such as parks and rec centers. They close them. I'm done keeping quiet about this when I witness it.

This also had nothing to do with "new age" drivers. Anyone driving a commercial vehicle across State lines is 21 years or older. Act like an adult.

I bought fuel. And I had a ton of cleaning needed done to the truck. It WAS pretty filthy.

  9. I've noticed it for years. No communication on c.b. piss poor driving. Lack of pride in there truck(no pretrip). Fired a guy cause he assumed Petro and TA checked his oil. The list is endless...

I think its a refection of society in general these days, the attitude that someone owes them something. and the trash dumping and coffee dumping is a way " to get back at someone" in making someone else clean up their mess.

and many of them have lost jobs elsewhere in this economy and have "settled " on driving a truck as a last resort. they hate what they do and therir circumstance in life, and do everything they can to makes others as miserable as they are.

it is readily apparent on this forum in the attitude of many of the posters.

my personal favorite is the absolute hatred of the reserved spots at the t/a petro. to me they are a tool to use when I need too. to them its supposed to be free and included with EBT card or something.

the questions from the absolute rookies don't botherme , as I think if a guy is asking a question, he is trying to learn to proper way.

much of what we know has been learned over many years of work and making some mistakes.

its the "I don't care" attitude, " it aint my job" attitude that bothers me.

and you also have to fully understand , the big carriers are actually creating a zombie trucker, trained like Pavlov's dogs. he cant eat, breathe or think for himself.

example, have a flat and they will stop on the shoulder and wait a 1/2 mile from the truckstop exit. thus creating a road hazard and inconvience for himself. or a light blows on trailer and they both aren't allowed to change it or purchase one to change it. they wait 5 hours to get in a shop.

its a result of the "everyone gets a trophy " attitude of the world these days. where no one is taught to think for themselves and look for solutions.

but us older experienced guys have to be careful of not becoming to cynical, where we to often criticize instead of helping without being asked. and keeping up the standards we grew up with.

if we don't we actually become part of the problem.
