Trying to get current input to decide if it is worth switching. I'm at 6 months experience and pay ranges from. .26-.34 cpm depending on distance. Central says I 'll get .30 cpm for west coast deliveries and .32 cpm for east cost deliveries. Jb hunt offers more, but what they say seems too good to be true.

Anywhere would be better then that .26 cpm nonsense. If you have experience then mark Central off your list. They are for beginners and trapped leased operators. Find a company that pays the same cpm no matter the length of haul. You should atleast be making .34 cpm no matter what.

I agree. You should be getting more. Make sure the offers you consider are valid. I went to one company who said .41 but was actually .36 and the other .05 was BONUS pay if you was willing to run illegal for them.

Check with Crete, you will likely be offered .40 as long as your record is clean.

You could consider heartland express too but it's gonna depend on the miles you get a week isn't it

    .30/mile x 3000mi/wk = $900/wk
    .40/mile x 3000mi/wk = $1200/wk

    But...

    .40/mile x 2200mi/wk = $880/wk

Be sure they can run you a decent amount of miles.

    Also...
Consider layover pay, breakdown pay, penalties for idling when temps get < 20 degrees,
Home time if you need it, health insurance pkg., life insurance $$, etc.

There are numerous things to consider. It's not all about the CPM, but I'm in agreement with the other posters...26cpm is absurd.

Isn't JB Hunt strictly a union shop?

Don't know. My concern was switching and getting less miles. Recruiters may say you will get 2,500-3,000 but we all know how recruiters operate.

So is it. 2 weeks notice , 1 week notice, or no notice when leaving a trucking job?
