Yes there's plenty of hazmat loads so that's an endorsement you need with the usual TWIC although I rarely use it. I run quite a bit of hazmat to the Midwest, so perhaps that's one of the reasons why they pay better. It's hard to find good hazmat drivers. Many don't pass the sniff/ litmus test.
But not all FSC are hazmat as you do get non hazmat too. But they will give you training on pump offs and air off procedures. But again, it's going to depend on the customer.

realsupatrucka, you asked about local pay. That's a tough one to answer. Being an Enterprise driver, our pay is different then Transport Service drivers and local is different then system. I'm payed by either the mile, flat rate, or hourly. I'm not making as much as I did with Enterprise, but we've had some people looking at it and they just made some adjustments in February. Waiting to see how that works out.
