It's what the Australian built cat trucks are running. They are still using a NXS acert and have changed the software to run dpf and changed the crankcase breather to meet the latest emissions down under.

australians cat have their own version prostar and pre emission c-15. I don't why they called it CAT CT660 when we also have CT660 but egr/dpf crap.

The Acert 475Hp and higher Hp engines with an 1850 torque output rating require two 10" diameter mufflers to reduce exhaust restrictions through the catalytic converters or a single muffler that is 14" in diameter. By modifying the dual muffler exhaust to use only one of the existing mufflers is going to cause major exhaust back pressure issues at full power output of the engine. I'm assuming that you have the muffler mounted under the truck. Remove it or the only muffler that I've seen that you can replace it with is a Pittsburgh Power muffler designed for the 2002 and earlier KW W900L AeroCab sleeper trucks. You need to get rid of the catalytic converter muffler no matter what you do, otherwise fuel mileage will suffer greatly with the current set up.

The twin turbos kills a lot of exhaust sound, so running straight pipes isn't as much of an issue with noise as the older trucks were. They still have a fairly noisy jake on straight pipes though.

I've got a customer in Texas with a modified MBN that does this type of work that is getting great fuel mileage pulling a pneumatic trailer, but he does have an APU for his waiting to unload at the well head.

Didn;t the DOT just change the law that turbochargers are no longer considered a muffling device and a muffler is now required?

I called Pittsburgh power and told him what I was wanting and said they couldnt sell me that muffler for a acert engine. Said if had a different application no problem. So Im doing more research.. Thank You Mr Haney, I was waiting for a reply from you. Ill try and get one put on.

I believe PDI meant no emissions tampering to re-gen.
