I learned to drive in a swingfender dodge with a 238 and a 4x4 spicer airshift I loved it then moved on to a superduty ford with a 534 gasser and a 5 and 4...prob be hard pressed to get either one of them to move now...sure like to climb back into one (for a little while)...sure love my air ride and 10spd cascadia nowadays though....

You may not like the Diamond Reo I was blessed with driving. Had a rock for a parking brake. A 2X12 to lay across the seats for a bed. 15 minutes to build air. Armstrong power steering. 3.00 sleeping bag via Good will. Duct tape to keep the rain out, for awhile. Never complained, didn't have to flip burgers.

Tommorow, Double clutching. No Elroy, it has one clutch. Sort of. It's a PTO. We will get into that later.

Come on now, purple legs are sexy.
Can anyone explain how you shift a two stick? -
If you watch the first video you will notice that one stick is shifted 3 or 4 times (auxiliary) to every 1 time (main) the other is shifted, that depends on the number of gears in each respective box. You should use the clutch with a single push in, I never even tried to float gears on a twin stick. You start off with both boxes in first gear, shift the auxilary the proper number of time then in most cases you reach through the steering wheel with your left hand and grasp the auxiliary stick, at the same time you grasp the main box lever with your right hand, let up on the accelerator and push in the clutch and move both sticks at the same time. You run through all your main and aux. gears until you get to the highest gear. Once you learn how to hit all of them your can start skipping some. Hope that gives you an idea how to do it. 4 x 4 equals 4 in the main box 4 in the aux. for a total of 16 forward gears and 4 reverse gears. They come in numerous combinations and in various brands of trucks.
The second video is not really a twin box truck, just a transmission with a 2 speed aux. Like a housewife would drive to the soccer game to pick up the kidsCetane+ Thanks this. -
Ran a gypo belly dump w/ a 6x4. None of the other drivers could figure out how that old beater could do +35mph in reverse.
