I don't think that counts in trucking , cause when you give them notice they will probably let you sit .
you could always try the method I posted one time .

Personally, I would have swung by the house and emptied everything except for the bare necessities out of the truck... Then go to a terminal and give your two week notice... Some companies might run you the two weeks, others (not wanting an employee that doesn't have their best interests at heart anymore) will take the truck right then... Make sure you get a copy of you DAC before though to see what is on there, and have another job lined up... Just my two cents...

Here is how I designed my leaving:
Put in for 30 day leave of absence (Swift allows one (1) LOA every 12 months).
That give me (you) 30 days to either find something better or just take a much needed break from the BS.
Benefits to doing the leave of absence:
* Your still officially employed which looks good to other employers.
* If you put in the one year you get vacation pay (1 weeks worth averaged out over the year).
* You get a free coat. Score!
* The company doesn't sue you (me).
* DAC doesn't get effed with.
* If you can't get anything else going on during the 30 day period that your not driving, you can still go back to the prison.
And! they'll accept you with open arms! You'll still be just a POS to them tho.
It's a great lose/lose situation.
cheersscottied67 and tangerineGT Thank this. -
Another concern is with the loads at Central. I would be a company driver and I'm sure the good loads go to those leasing.
