I was pulling walmart trailers out of Plainview TX during the month of February before I went home for time off. Let me tell you, hauling walmarts has so far been the high light of my trucking career. I've always wanted to work for walmart and im slowly but surely making my way up with my experience. But the people at the Plainview DC, from my dispatchers to the drivers were all VERY EXCELLENT people. If I needed help with anything what so ever, they were always there to help. I really enjoyed hauling for walmart for that short period of time and the set up they have is awesome. Not sure if i'll ever see some of those drivers again, but I wish I could so I could thank them for the input and advice.

If you meet the minimum requirements apply. You never know they are hiring right now in plainview

I don't meet the minimum requirements. Most of my trucking was done with a farm license within 100 miles of our farm in Ohio. I didn't get my cdl until this past year so im working to get my miles up now.

Basically you would be regional. All the areas you mentioned plus DFW, Houston and east Texas, also a good possibility of LA, OK, and AR. You don't stay at many truck stops. You would stay at a store unless there are restrictions like noise ordinances. Calls are has a lot of them but they make sure those stores are done during the day. Good luck on the 25th!

i was gonna see about getting a later leave out so i can live down in galveston until i met the other drivers. if i live in galveston i will live closer to the dc than most of the other guys. half the class is either from san antonio or dallas. made galveston not seem so far lol

Wow. I guess we will have some more transfers in a year lol. George is number 1. Nice guy and Anthony is a good guy as well. Glad it was a good day for you and the rest. I'm back in Houston tonight. May not get to stop in until Friday if I don't see the yard until tomorrow night. Its all good. Soak up most of it and when you get out here just keep it to the basics. Most importantly have fun! I'll catch up with you soon.

Hey you guys were right made so much on my third check I bought a SAMs club membership, livin in tall cotton. Also signed a Chicago metro bid and got it, no more slipin yippee!!!
Big question: when your going to layover at a store, where is the best place to park for low noise and not to make any one mad? I seem to be able to pick the absolute worst place all most every time...

Well it depends. If there is room behind a store where you can be out of the way, or out in the parking lot set up so you can get out easily. In Dallas there are a bunch of stores you can't layover at because of noise ordinances from the neighborhoods and cities.

    Mrpeanut Thanks this.
