What I think is you could stand to work on your communication skills. Since you asked.

I believe your main question was if an O/O can gross 275,000 / year. The answer is of course, yes. It's only $5288/week. The trick is to do it running 2000 miles or less instead of 3000 miles or more, but yes it can be done.

I'm still trying to figure out what Canada or LTL have to do with it, and what the rest of your rant was about.

My wife is one of 5 sisters ... when she's talking to me I can track her. But when she and her sisters get together, following the conversation is a lot like following this post.

Let me take a stab at this. The way I see it Timflatbed's husband is hauling heavy and/or oversize, grossing $15K+ up to Canada (less expenses for escort, etc.). Depending on total miles that is the only way it starts making sense on that score.

Regarding the original question: absolutely a flatbedder can gross $275K in a year. If that friend of a friend of a friend thinks it can be done without doing actual work or waiting for loads, then that's unreasonable.

My brother just leased on with a company servicing oil rigs out of OKC. First 8 loads in 8 days grossed $11K. Each load requires hard work and some of the destinations are challenging to get in and out of, what with mud, snow, etc. But yeah, I'd say he'll easily gross at least $275K for a full year's work.

Bottom line is work is involved and wait times are involved.

I could win the lottery too. its possible.

but leased on to am can, it would require possibly no days oof and on the road 12 months, no breakdown, seamless loading and unloading, no layovers etc,.

no with highly specialized regular occurring freight, would make it a tad easier,

but I am like you , how dang many miles might it take

: I KNOW I can make 275 for O/O ?! Hmmmm....I run my husband and he runs Canada..possible for LTL then haul to Canada well....I say UM...you cant go to Canada you think you can make 3 per mile? Hmmmm.....puzzling...Coming to Universal after working for Wiley ( and hes a picky picky truck driver ) SOOO...and on top of that...he doesn't like to take three hours loading? Umm.... that's TRUCK DRIVING I want to scream..MY hubby typically talks his way out of a three hour load and doesn't sleep and most times eats raviolis out of the can to haul his "hinny" wherever whenever and has done so for twenty years! OH! and his overhead on his truck is GINORMOUS! 4800.00 per month and he has one tank of fuel and is BEHIND?! OK what do I say at this point...hes going to Houston and I say why don't you finish orientation and run a few locals to get cash for fuel then we have 2 days to find a better load and work some magic...UGH he says...well that is truck driving....Ok, RANT done at this point! Hubby believes I'm reasonable and I know I'm being reasonable...what do you all think?

I most be a big dummy, cause this post is flying way over my head. I did not know there was such a thing as over sized LTL freight, and at $4800.0 a month, I hope that truck has brass polls and strippers sliding down them.

Or heavy hauling/oversize hauling into Canada for $3.50 a mile (that would be a legal load). Or an LTL into Canada. Fuel is what...$5 a gallon or better up there? It would have to pay more.
