Truck stop polishers

Wow you guys are harsh. Not everyone who offers services at the truck stops are total bums. How do I know? I used to have my own company (paid taxes and all) doing interior detailing. I ran fully legit with the proper permits including written permission, from the main one I worked out of, to work on their property. I chose to do it because many of the drivers I knew didn't want to spend their downtime cleaning plus it was a job I could work around anything else I had going on. By the time I shut my company down (due to moving) I was also doing carpet & upholstery cleaning. But we also gave back to the drivers by having a once a month BBQ for them. It wasn't anything fancy but it gave us a chance to thank the drivers for their sacrifices for us.

Well.. seeing how many posts he has posted and the hundreds of times he was thanked.. I am guessing here.. but my guess is he is a driver...

 

Never found Polish food at a truck stop but if there was a restaurant I suppose I'd get me some.

 

After the hundredth BS sob story... you tend to get a little jaded.

 

I know.

It just sounded SO much like an advert.

 

or you can look for some $$$$ to pay them in your sleeper while dialing the local police to complain about someone trying to hustle you out of money.

 

Get my truck shined in Eloy. By the Blue Beacon, best I have ever seen. A woman was sitting at a store when we pulled in before the Wife & I headed to our room. Young person, she looked down & out. Wife didn't like it, but the wheels could use a shine. Provided her with the materials to do it, bought her something to eat. She did a Stellar Job. Paid her well. She kept our trucks for three years, I helped her get a cart with a little gas powered light plant. A drill and rags, you get the idea. Honest, dependable, kind. Helped her when no one else would. Some folks just need a little bit of help. She owns a detailing shop in S.Texas. She passed away last year. Take another look before you throw someone away. Offered to teach her to drive, she said the trucks were to big. Her name was Maria. A good employee & friend.

 

I've been ripped off by men in suits and ties way worse than I've ever been ripped off by a bum, and that's facts jack !

 

But what really gets me is, i had white painted steel wheels and full fairings covering the fuel tanks. He just couldnt understand why i didn't want my wheels and tanks polished!!!!
