Did a short 30 mile round trip today, it paid well! Had about 12 hours wrapped up in it because the customer made some mistakes with paperwork and the dock personnel told me wrong information. But it happens sometimes, just kept my cool and put on a smile. At least i got to finish my book today!! Cant survive without my kindle.

Love those 30 mile loads. Moneymakers. Thank goodness the herd only cares about miles.

Honestly didn't feel like a pissing match. People develop a market and it works. Many people could try and do what we are doing and would fail because they don't have the accounts that we do.

The realllllly frustrating ones are when you get tied up and not making the money. My last load pulling a van was like that. A "just get me home" load that took all day to get unloaded.

I'm stealing this line. Oh so true and with long haul dying we are seeing a race to the bottom on rates of 600+ loads with solo transit.

It is definitely taking some adjustment going from 3200miles a week to around 2000. Im still in that "gotta go" mindset. But Im coming around. I guess I just got used to those long runs, but with better money on short miles with less stress on the truck, cant beat it.

The long runs will come. Just not as often. You let them come to you and the money follows. When you go seeking them out specifically disappointment is normally the result.

Met Bill and Lauren Tuesday and the rest of the "support" team today. Been sorta shook up as it isn't easy to trust anyone else with my finances but I left home with the mindset "Bill will make me money" and I haven't varied from that. Truck is labelled, dot inspected, and awaiting Qualcomm installation. Permit and plates are supposed to be ready for tomorrow sometime. Tom showed me some things today that reassured me that I'm in the right spot. I am fairly confident that this is home.

I love long runs, thinking of joining with F2F once I turn 21 in 2015.

I know, i guess its just the old mindset versus the new. Ive had to run crazy miles since 2009, so its just the getting used to not running like hell to make good money. It was a like going from 100mph to 50mph. You know you are moving even though it feels like youre standing still.

I seriously dont even know where to begin so here goes nothing.......

No one ever said I have it figured out, I just know what has been working for me. Nothing more, Nothing Less.

I only asked about F2F and stated Id like to run I95, WHY, because that is what put me on the money; never did I say I wasnt open to different lanes or thats the only way to make money.

You were the last person on TTR Id expect a response like that from.

I only elaborated on why the I 95 corridor because you asked
Without asking questions no one would know F2F has just as good rates without going to the NE. I even "thanked" your post when you replied
I was more then eager hearing more about earning the same or more without dealing with tolls and congestion which is why I said I WAS happy; which is why I was inquiring abou F2F

FWIW...I never considered myself "part of the herd" Ive always had pride in my 1200 mile week running lanes with 2 to 3 days at the house

This week I did $4,088 gross on 1580mi. Good week even with sitting all day yesterday in Dallas. Dont like to sit, who does? But its better than taking a cheap rate just to move. Ive never liked the idea of hauling for nothing just to move, though i understand its occasionally necessary. But a decent week none the less.
