Seats in my 08 were better than 07's and before. I'm sure they would be easy to swap.

As for as fuel savings, doubt it my Ram gets 10 mpg loaded. my buddies Ford, the same. A lot of TT will get that if you stay out of the hammer lane.

Either one is better then a chevy/gmc I'd go for the dodge cause of the price and the Cummins.

Find yourself a Freightliner or other midsize with an 8.3 cummins. A lot more reliable engine when pulling loads. I am a fan of all the diesel pickups but they wear out quickly when worked.

Fords and Chevys are now made for yuppies. They are not really a work truck any more. Just a SUV without the third row seating. Yeah they might pull a train car from a stop uphill, but they will only do that once. I know a guy that has 200k on a F450 and is about to install the 4th rearend. You can't make money when the truck is sitting, now matter what it is.

Personally, I would go for a class 8 truck. The reason being is the diversity of what you can haul. What are you going to do if the economy crashes and people quit buying cars? With the pickups you are limited in what you can do. With a class 8 you can throw another trailer behind it from a flatbed to a van to heavy and oversized hauling.

When you put all your eggs in one basket and it gets bumped, some are going to break.

When people say pickups are cheaper to maintain, they really don't figure all the costs. Yes a single repair on a semi will be higher, but the repairs tend to be farther between.

    12 MPG here.

Lots of pickups with 600-1m k, do your research better.

Thanks for the advice. For others who don't bother reading the beginning post or looking at my profile, it's not too late to turn it around. I am going to end up with a ram in the near future. From all of the dually and wedges I saw today, they were rams. I would take a class 8 later when I see if I'm making money. I understand the versatility of them. Now I just have to get some better information on local rates. Besides, I'm looking to upgrade my current suv anyway.

FULL DISCLOSURE: While i don't work directly for Ford, i do work a company that markets for Ford.

wish i'd seen this earlier.. but here goes. the 2015 6.7 Ford will be rated at 440 hp and 860 lbs torque. the 350 tow rating will be right @ 30,000 with the 450 being closer to 31,250. that said, ford's gonna be offering something kinda unique on the 350 for at least the first part of the model year. you will be able to get a 450 front axle as an option on the 350. should be a little better turn radius but it will also add to your gvwr without spending the full jack for a 450. last of all with the updates on the 6.7 ford will be offering a pretty good exhaust brake for 2015.

as for the auto in the ford, it's pretty stout. infact they have signed some contracts to be installed in military vehicles replacing the allison.

to the comment that ford and chevy only make the heavier trucks for the yuppie crowd, come down to Texas and see what the ranchers put those trucks through and you'd be surprised.

Well if it's true that I can get the 450 axle in a 350, then it's back to the drawing board. I've always been a Ford guy.

we had a 2015 f-350 king ranch 4x4 dually at the 2014 San Antonio rodeo and stock show and it was set up that way. i talked with an engineer @ it a few weeks later and he said that it would be an option for at least the beginning of the year. check with your dealer. they are slowly realesing info on the 15's i've seen them and driven, not a huge cosmetic difference between the 15 and 14, the main things are the changes to the engine/turbo.

i do know that they announced almost two weeks ago that in the medium duty's,550,650 etc, they have dropped cummins from the line up and the only diesel available in them is the 6.7 ltr powerstroke.

like i said, i work for a company that markets fords, but i don't selll them. if a dodge fits best for your needs, then i recommend going with that. i just wanted to pass the info along.
