There is a big difference between a physical limiter and the actual truck speed limit on the road. Barney is only going to have jurisdiction on the speed limit, not the speed limiter. Ever go down hill? No limiter can control the actual speed, only the limit at which power can be applied. You name the judge, and I'll easily find a lawyer who can argue a great defense around the limiter. Thing is, when the ECM would be checked, as it most certainly would be to verify the limiter is set, it would show the speed limiter is set. So the cop is going to have to explain to that same judge how, if the limiter is set, that Barney clocked you going faster. Sounds like a fun day in court!

Well, ok... Mines got a limiter on it to, its over 100mph, no way to do it without a computer, other than adjusting the throttle linkage, that will never happen...

Just curious how many more people are killed on the highway every year as a result of drunk driving or texting/cell phone use. Would love to see those statistics. I dont see ignition interlocking devices being mandated in all vehicles anytime soon.

They have another thing comeing if they think I will ever limit my truck I will never get in a race to the top of a hill both doing 65 + -. Just look at all these trucks set around 65 to 67 the 67 thinks already they have to pass on that hill but they cant quite make it I followed a truck passing another one the other day took 7 miles before he got around I was around both in less than a mile its BS. Drivers haul all kinds of weights and have different size moters on will climb better but if hes cut off the differance is going to make a mess lines mikes long two lanes deep climbing over passes. Cars will think so much more oh they can only do 65 I can make it around him and hit my exit a 1/8 mile away before he gets there. Never will I limit my truck start writing the tickets and then youll be down one more driver to get you your goods
