Skunk Truck I hate to break it to you, but if you rear ended someone because they hit their brakes, regardless of weather they used their turn signal or not, then its your fault for following too close and not being able to stop in time. Do that in a big truck and some companies will let you go in a heart beat. Space is your friend.
right turns suck

####! I was afraid someone was going to say that. Well, I wasn't tail gating though. I was better than a car length behind. Maybe that's why no one is calling me back. That would make sense. At least it was in my personal vehical and not a big truck. I guess it's back to the drawing board and talk with Driver Solutions. I'm to the point I'll hitch hike to get to and from school and not eat. I'm really getting hardcore on the situation at this point because I have to do something because I can't find a job here locally to save my life for anything and my current job is steady dwindling down as gas prices go up.
-
Still illegal.
better? define better? A car length is like 15 feet. so you were maybe 30 feet behind her? Here is something to keep in mind for a reference..they say that when STOPped, you should be abotu 20 feet behind the car in front of you. now if its 20 feet stopped, you sohuld be a gerat deal more than that when moving. -
Opp's?
Well, I have been a hellava lot more careful sense then. My first wreck ever while I was driving. I wasn't shook up or anything from the impact. I was just flat pissed because I knew that would hurt me somewhere down the road and I guess this is where it hit's me. Now from what I understand a moving violation is like running a red light, stop sign, speeding etc. So what would this accident fall under?
-
A moving violation is a citation where you're not parked. The accident would fall under ACCIDENTS.

I just went through Driver Solutions and got hooked up with P.A.M. Transport. Went to C1 Driving School in Fort Wayne, IN. They will be opening a brand new classroom in a couple of weeks. The only things I didn't like were that you only went on the road 4 days and then they were trying to get you to "State Test" the next monday! I felt rushed and glad that I had a little experience. Make sure you 1. Will pass a D.O.T. physical and havent had any felonies in the last 10 years (guy got bounced for having one 8 years ago) 2. Don't mind staying in a really crappy motel. Yes, you have to get an IN license, but it's really not a big deal. I dont know about New York, but in Michigan, I can just go to the S.O.S. or licensing bureau and pay to get a new Michigan CDL and pay for the endorsements to be transferred. Overall, if you listen to the instructors and study the 108 point pre-trip inspection and 4 point brake check, you will do fine and get your CDL. If you have any other questions, just ask
-
Yea, what's all one hundred and eight point's to inspect? lol I know a lot of them but I'm still missing some. I think I'm going to go with Prime and have C-1 take a hike.
-
I just walked around the truck and said "nothing's leaking, missing, cut, or loose". Works great for the DOT test.
-
lol yep exactly. Schneider trained us on a big list of stuff to look for, for their pre trip inspection and my particular instructor who taught the pretrip said it can be limited toa few select phrases or words...because you are pretty much looking for the same stuf over the entire truck
*secure
*not leaking
*not cracked
*not rusting
*not missing
..etc. granted it doesnt apply to everything, but it saves a ton of time, lol. -
What about the DRIVER?
Does it apply to the driver?
