Strange odor

Isn't that the way most people who drive Volvo's smell?

 

This does sound strange. Could you be smelling hot wiring? Maybe it is something that wouldn't get hot, unless that unit is turned up.

 

Coolant running out of drain under bunk? can make smell that willnot show wet inside under bunk.

 

Ok you got the best 2 pieces of advice that could be given.....
1) change air filters out in bunk
2) batteries could be bad

i don't think there could be any other advice on this, not sure of curry smell but when my batteries started to go smelled like bad eggs. Get some fabreeze and spray it on filters and in vents ( ok make sure it's not blowing when you do this) not sure what more can be thought of.

 

I think you may be a bit mixed up there, Ms. Eiffel. Sniffing truck seats is a long established practice in some countries. Could you be thinking of used bicycle seats, perhaps? (Snarf. . .)

 

Yes, the bunk heat and cab run off engine temp coolant.
and the bunk heater (Esbar heater) is a separate component that runs off your batteries.
