"Pretarped" --- All that means is the tarps have been placed over the load already, with only a few bungees keeping the wind from blowing it away. You'll still be strapping & applying bungees. And don't worry...applying all the bungees can be quite the workout. ;)

I was planning on calling the hotel later next week like Friday and asking them about check in time and if there was microwaves in the rooms do ya think they would tell me that over the phone ? I wouldn't mind buying a microwave at all but I wanna wait and find out an make sure im offered a job before I start spending money like that

Yeah, after my four weeks on the trainer truck & when I finally met the guy that would be my "fleet manager" (dispatcher), he was telling me that "several loads will be drop & book, so we can get you rolling again sooner." I laughed & said, "Okay...the first thing you need to understand is that 'drop & hook' in flatbedding AIN'T 'drop & hook' in dry van." He asked, "what do you mean?" So I explained it to him...politely. I figured it best to get off on the right foot. "The right foot" being that I expected clear & concise communication from him, & that he'd get the same from me. Turned out we worked very well together.

I would think McElroy will tell you what time you'll need to check in. If they're s using the same motel, there's a microwave.

well what is the difference would the difference be what u said earlier about the tarps just being draped over the load and you had to finish strapping it

Yes. In other words, there's considerably more to do than just dropping one trailer, hooking to another, & then hitting the road.

I got to be there in 8 days and I'm starting to get real nervous about it with everything the hotel and class I sure hope they understand I'm a student and I don't have any driving experience except the 12 hours of driving we had in class I hope they don't expect me to be perfect to start out with I honestly think the only thing that I will have a problem with driving is the downshifting and I know that over time with some actual drive time I will perfect it
