Lol'd
I imagine blonde isn't so uncommon in these areas.
But seriously OP- you've got a lovely little mold/fungus some kind of infestation in your HVAC system.
If you're a company driver just be prepared to live with it. If you're an O/O be prepared to be quoted ridiculously large amounts of money to get rid of the smell.
In the end neither option works well. The infestation is difficult to combat on a permanent level, had good successes with white vinegar; but then the truck smells acidic for a good long while. The off smell abates for a while, then it comes back- then you're hitting the heater core with more vinegar and repeat cycle.
Strange odor

My last name is Johnson if you can believe it.
I'm sorry to say Moosetek no true Minnesotan puts anything on their chicken other then cream gravy.
-
I've never had Swedish meatballs, either, even though my sister is the manager of the restaurant in the IKEA in MN.
Go figure.
Tell you what. Next time I'm home you are invited over for some of my infamous curry chicken.
Or, just a visit if you are like my sister. She loves the smell when I am cooking it, but hates the taste.
I can always make you some of my even more infamous chicken fried rice. No one makes fried rice like I do - not even the Chinese! -
I am not a true MNtan I guess.
I was born in Palo Alto, CA, last lived in San Diego, and I've lived a dozen places around the country between.
And the curry is not on the chicken, the chicken is in the curry.
Big difference. -
If the fan motor were burning I should smell the smell whenever the fan was on, no?
As it is, it is only when the bunk thermostat is turned up past zero. -
Sounds good! My full blood Swede grandmother made incredible Swedish meatballs. She was not known as a good cook other then that dish. My great great grandparents immigrated to Mora, MN in the late 1800's. My grandma died almost 3 years ago and is the last of our family to live there.
Sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread. -
I don't make a smell come out of the bunk vents, no matter how long it has been.
Too long, by the way. But tonight I'm stuck at Walmart, and they don't have showers for us poor truckers.
Baby wipes it is! -
I love the fact that this conversation moved from a random odor in a random sleeper, to nationalism and various food from various corners of the globe.
This is why I come here; to derail threads.
Consider getting a case of Charmin ultra wipes from amazon. The best money you can spend, quite frankly, as a trucker.Really cannot say enough about how great they are! for wiping yourself down, to cleaning up yourself and the truck- their use is limited only by your imagination and their cost is reasonable when bought in bulk.Don't forget you can wipe your ### with them, too feel somewhat clean after dropping a huge #### in a toilet.MJ1657 Thanks this. -
I'm having fun with y'all, don't worry about it.
That's sad. That means that she can't make me some.
I'd much rather have tried her meatballs than the ones at IKEA. Wouldn't you?
I'm not known for many other dishes as well.
Curry Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, a great turkey dinner at the right time of year, and Pumpkin Pie.MJ1657 Thanks this. -
And would this problem just pop up from one day to the next?
That is how fast it happened.
How would it have began in the first place?
