Where are the best places to post jobs if one is looking for a OTR driver?

Yeah, Craigslist and Indeed are pretty good spots. Your local newspaper isn't a bad idea.

There's also a forum area here on the truckers report that you can advertise for your open job. Here's the link.

Craigslist hasn't been very helpful thus far and I am now moving towards other options such as this sight looking for advice.

You can find "experienced" drivers relatively easy. The question is, what type of experienced driver (van/flat/refrigerated/specialized)? You get what you pay for. Experienced drivers with a good MVR & low CSA will command a higher wage. What area(s) will you expect them to operate? Well qualified experienced drivers will want medical benefits (we don't ObamaCare). Do you provide this? Experienced drivers don't want to drive ragged-out poorly maintained equipment. What do you provide? Experienced drivers are looking for respect for their ability to maintain a clean driving record & solid work history. They want their employer to treat them as part of a team; not just human robot that holds a steering wheel. What is your attitude toward experienced drivers?

"Experienced drivers" didn't get experience by accident. At least, not those of us who view our profession as something other than "just another job". We are out here, but we aren't cheap. I currently make .48 p/m plus other pay. I have, not great, but good health care. My MVR is squeaky clean & my CSA is 0. I'm not the only one. So if you want an "experienced driver" of my caliber, can you afford me?

This site can be your friend. Use it wisely, & good luck.

The best way to get an experienced driver is word of mouth. No offense intended, but most of us avoid craigslist and the likes for a few reasons.

Spam and scams. A few of us actually avoid employers that advertise because there might be a (bad) reason why they need drivers.

I have no issues with looking through Craigslist although at present I am not looking for a job but I did find one through them one time. If I was looking I would look wherever there might be a job listed. The thing about "word of mouth" is that could be a pretty slow means of getting the word out.
