Don't sweat it superpet! You will find another company to work for. Did your co driver get let go as well? Refusing a load is one thing. Telling the incompitant dispatcher the "preplan" can not be done safely is obviously the same thing in their eyes. So serve them a bowl of chocolate pudding and watch them eat poo because it could be the same thing to them. Good luck in your search bud!

Too bad, after you researched and worked so hard to get back on the road. At least now you have something recent to work with for your next job.

The co-driver screwed up. He should have accepted the load and said, "It's going to be tight, but we'll give it our best shot", then headed for Sacramento. Been in that situation many times. You still run legal and just do what you can. If you're late, the load planner messed up, not you.

that's because your company doesn't assign you loads you can't do......think about it

THIS is what im counting on..... Im fortunate that im in a financial position where I don't have to "rush" anything..... i figure if I can fill out about 5-10 online apps a day, that something should turn up, and if all else fails, THEN consider another OTR company....... I still have dreams/plans of yanking tanks for chevron- its just going to take a little while to build up the ol resume.

I have NO PROBLEM with admitting this:

I now understand the significance companies put on OTR experience..... although I have VERY LITTLE of it, it truly is different than local driving- im not putting myself (or any other driver with ONLY local exp) down - but I learned ALOT (in a short time), and feel a ton more confident now- due to my little bit of OTR exp.... keep in mind I had never even been inside a TS before this little adventure (old job had diesel pumps and a scale in the yard)

Anyway I want to thank ALL you guys for all your opinions on the matter- I didnt know about this place when I first got my CDL back in 08'....... Now that i do: im not going anywhere, i just consider this just a small hiccup in my life.

im not going to split hairs here...... But I will say that I don't recall saying I thought it was a good decision by any stretch.IIRC you can tell from my previous posts that I felt as if it was my ONLY choice (other than paying for a local refresher myself- which I'm not against at all if need be)
