There's some pretty good ones out there:
Maverick - you should probably get home every weekend or every other weekend.
PGT
System Transport
Decker Truck Line
Melton Truck Linescabwrecker Thanks this. -
In PA, I know Paul Miller Trucking and Mawson are hiring. You can also check out Keen.

I'm driving for Melton at the moment and they're treating me well so far, though I'm still learning stuff every day. Pretty good deal if you like to just get your load and be pretty hands-off with dispatch. You get one day off for every week out and have to give 1 week notice where you are for hometime. If you really want to, you can get home for a weekend every two weeks easily enough, but you'd have to stay out longer to get bigger runs with more miles.
I've been told by some TMC drivers that they stay regional and get home every weekend, but I didn't look in to TMC, so I can't confirm that. I've heard the same about PGT, and both are apparently decent enough companies. TMC will train you well before you get your own truck and those black Petes sure do look nice going down the road.
I can give you details on Melton if you want. I've been here for a month. The other flatbed (covered wagon) company I drove for is a bit out of your geographical range, unfortunately. -
System is a great company. I work for them, they have all KW t660's and a a couple dozen peterbilt 386's. I work for the northwest reigonal, witch they pay .36 cpm and i am home every weekend. They have been great to me but one of the biggest problems is only getting payed $20 for tarping. They have been great to me, good pay but every company has its downs. System is definitely a great company. (some advice is DO NOT do maxi the pay is better but you spent most of your time tarping and preping loads)

In PA, TMC, Maverick or PGT will be the big ones. Plus McElroy if they still have the Lowes flatbed DC in Pittston. Then there's Mawson, Paul Miller Trucking (PMT), Eastern Freightways, etc. The big 3 have a decent freight base in your corner of PA, or did when I was out there anyway.
Personally, I had good results with TMC. -
Thank
You -
TMC has 62 mph trucks. And electronic logs. Just sayin..... Plus if your going to do regional take the load percentage pay; this will negate the log issue and the 62 mph issue somewhat.
actually PGT is probably better- take load percentage with them too. You'll make out better from what I hear from PGT drivers I've met. -
Howard Transport out of Laurel,MS is a good company with good equipment. I know they run the NE a lot so they may hire in your area...Good Luck
